Rebirth (Buddhist) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Rebirth (Buddhist) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia: "The being in this intermediate state was known as a gandhabba (Sanskrit gandharva), and for pregnancy to occur a gandhabba is propelled towards rebirth through its desire for sex..."

This conflicts with my first experiences of life where I love my father and mother as a child, without enmity or hatred towards them.

Thus I don't believe in gandharva. Though it does explain my father's attitude towards me during my life after 12.

Forever War Revisited

Here's one article written in 2002 that mentions "forever war" in context with the war on terrorism:

"There are so many ill-starred events associated with the forever war that it's impossible to know where to begin. I call it the forever war (a takeoff on Joe Haldeman's superlative sci-fi novel of that name) because no matter what happens to bin Laden and Afghanistan, this drill is fated to continue, just with changes of venues and players. But, because I fly a lot, what's going on with the airlines is as good a place to begin as any."

Phenylpropanolamine ( PPA )

Phenylpropanolamine ( PPA ): "Psychiatric side effects attributed to phenylpropanolamine"

Today PPA is not found in most diet pills or cold medication. They've replaced it with ephedrine, an amphetamine.

Even in OTC medication, I would still rate its use on cold medication to be useless.

One would be better off with chicken soup.

A Buddhist View On Animal Rights

A Buddhist View On Animal Rights: "As reported in the New Scientist (June 28, 1997; page 11), and NATURE (July 3, 1997; page 11), the European Union has officially recognized that animals have feelings. So now, in Europe at least, the definition of animals (including dogs, of corse), will be changed to 'sentient beings', rather than having them classified as goods or agricultural products, when policies are formulated regarding agriculture, transport, and medical research."
