The true essence of spiritual life is to see through the deception of organized religion, and to propagate the truth of unconditional love.
As Tolstoy has written, '...for governments to expose the falsity of existing religions and to propagate the true one would amount to the same as a person cutting down the branch on which he is sitting' in his pamphlet, "What is religion, of what does its essence consist?".
Indeed, a person who has spent her life avoiding the reality that religion fills the void within knows only the emptiness known to people suffering from depression.
Barely comprehensible is it to the few truth speakers that the masses pursue happiness only to encounter such a dark, deep depression consisting of an emptiness unfathomable to but the eternally cheery optimist.
Yet those of us who know the truth are willing to sacrifice honour and reputation so that fellow truth speakers may know of it too.
I am deeply thankful to Leo Tolstoy, may he rest in peace, for writing his essay.
It is of a quality of gnosis that surpasses the Gnostics' grasp of the truth.
Hopefully, the truth that unconditional love shall be revealed in those people seeking It.
