The Pure Land as Waystation

Within the Shin Buddhist tradition, it is Amida Buddha who shows the way to the Pure Land of Bliss.

For the Pure Land is a waystation for the bodhisattva within to return to that state of spiritual bliss temporarily.

Out of full acceptance and gratitude, the Shin Buddhist returns to the real world to help other people suffer less.

Through daily practice of Buddha Remembrance, the Nembutsu practitioner recites Amida's name with sincere acceptance and gratitude. Thus, it is known as the Nembutsu practice.

As Nembutsu practitioner, the Shin Buddhist has faith in the Primal Vow that assures the faithful of rebirth in the Pure Land.

For the daily practice of Buddha Remembrance is worth each sincere utterance of the Name-that-calls.
