Today is the first full moon of 2011.
Anticipating the arrival of the full moon, I looked at my calendar, searching for any blue moons, when two full moons appear in a calendar month.
Alas, there are none. There will be no blue moons in 2011.
However, there is one black moon happening. A black moon is when a second new moon happens in a calendar month.
This year, the black moon will happen on July 30 at 18:40 UTC.
Update for 2013-01-16: There are no black or blue moons in 2013.
