UBC Fountain on a Rainy Day

I believe this is the source of the urban marsh / stream to the east of the fountain, on the road that runs west of the UBC Bookstore.

It's all good in theory, but is artificial and out of place.

As well, all it will take is a dozen drunk students to ruin the reed plants planted on the beds of the stream or the marsh-like area.

I believe the platform nearest the bookstore is supposed to be an entertainment stage. The electrician needs to set up the electrical outlets soon.

My only question is, how much did it cost to put a fake lake (the fountain) and the fake stream and marsh?
