Good Roots

When Buddhists say, “A bodhisattva fears not the result, but only the cause,” they mean that we must expend the bulk of our energy planting good roots today, rather than fretting about the plants that are already growing from the roots we planted in the past. — Master Hsing Yun Describing the Indescribable

Reality

Reality is like a face
reflected in the blade of a knife;
its properties depend on
the angle from which we view it.

Only a Moment

Just as material things are made of dust, so too are our perceptions and thoughts mere dust. Just as it takes only a moment to wipe the dust from the surface of a mirror, so it takes only a moment to become enlightened, the moment all defiled intentions are cleared from our consciousness, we will see ourselves in the mirror of perfect truth.
