Samsara is Nirvana

One concept of Buddhism is this:

"Samsara is Nirvana"

Samsara is our worldly existence which may be filled with suffering and sorrow.

Nirvana is its opposite, with the true Buddha being Nirvana itself.

To make samsara Nirvana, one would have to see samsara as empty of suffering.

Then what is samsara but Nirvana filled with suffering?

That which is Samsara/Nirvana is that which one's life is built upon.

Live by desire and passion, and Samsara is your karma.

Master the mind and thus control both desire and passion, and Nirvana is your karma.

Yet to desire either path is suffering too.

Since happiness itself may lead to suffering, I would prefer a joy empty of happiness to a happiness devoid of joy.

Thus the mastery of the mind and the resultant control of both desire and passion is my life-long goal.

And the only way to achieve it is through meditation.
