Love Forevermore (poem)

I was born when frost was on the ground.
Remembrance Day was what it is called.
But I call it my birthday, the day
My whole existence came into being.
My best memory is of my dad
At breakfast, and crying when he left
For work until my mom shooed me to bed.
Now it's been seven years since he died
Of old age, and I'm all over it.
Life is now good to me at long last.
My life is complete because of love.
I am thankful to my beloved
And truly believe in her, mind, body
And soul — truly and forevermore.
