Schizophrenics tend to be very intelligent, but couldn't fathom that by behaving inappropriately would annoy the Establishment.
In most cases, schizophrenics are their worst enemy, because they are so honest they rock the boat.
The saddest thing though, is that most schizophrenics also engage in risky behavior (drug use & drinking), and wonder why they are anxious and paranoid.
Yet some of them do not consciously see the contradiction of self medication and their fear of psychopharmaceuticals. Though, I suspect that their unconscious realization of that contradiction explains their noncompliance.
IMHO self medication usually trips up the genius.
