In a nutshell, if we didn't tell white lies, then we wouldn't have made it past almost 1 million years from prehistoric man to today.
What's that? You don't believe humans have been around for almost a million years?
Actually, modern man has been here for about 800,000 years. That's close enough to a million.
Telling the truth is why people don't like me much, the same reason why few people will tell the full truth in front of strangers.
My truth telling is hard for most people to handle. It gets them thinking (a white lie).
