Update on My Medications

A couple days ago, I tried 10g of Reactine for its sedative properties. A mild sedation was experienced but it left me feeling anxious and edgy.

Since then I have not used any more cetirizine due to the anxiety.

However, I prefer flexeril for the sedation I get the day after.

This is what sedation feels like for me with either drug: I feel mellow, and am able to moderate my negative emotions and remain positive despite the stress of daily life.

Even the pain in my left shoulder went away on flexeril.

Usually I take gabapentin (Neurontin) with flexeril at bedtime. Gabapentin is used to moderate pain, and relieves my anxiety. Flexeril is a muscle relaxant.

Yo prevent dependence on gabapentin, I take 100-200 mg. Likewise for flexeril, the dose is 10 mg.

Neither drug causes physical dependence. However, one may become habituated to either drug over time.

As well, I have never noticed any changes in behavior that could not be explain by other factors such as stress.

Therefore, when used according to the recommended dose for each drug, flexeril and gabapentin are useful in getting adequate rest at night.

For me, both medications are safer than the alternative.

Disclaimer: I take no responsibility for any person taking any medication mentioned above at more than the recommended doses, either alone or mixed with other drugs.

From Anti-Anxiety to Anxiety: Explanation of Overdose of Mesembrine

In this report on the effects of mesembrine, the author reports sedation usually from smoking kanna, but is naïve to the concentrated extract.

As well, he has a history of marijuana use and used the extract recreationally.

http://www.erowid.org/experiences/exp.php?ID=68898

Commentary: Initially, mesembrine has SSRI-like effects in low doses. However, large doses may result in serotonin syndrome.

One of the symptom of serotonin syndrome is hypomania which has psychomotor agitation resulting from mental tension and anxiety.

It may be helpful to use a mild sedative such as diphenhydramine (Benadryl) when coming down from a large dose of mesembrine, except where it is counterindicated i.e. mixed drug use.

In that case, it may require a trip to the emergency ward of the local hospital for a strong and fast-acting sedative such as the benzodiazepines i.e. midazolam or the much safer dexmedetomidine (Precedex).

Paris busted Out of Prison!

I just read that Paris Hilton who went to jail 3 days ago is out.

Tomorrow at 9 am sharp, she's going before the judge to determine if she's faking her mysterious medical condition.

My guess is that Paris is suffering from stress due to anxiety about being jailed with real hardcore criminals.

Here's my solution to deal with that, rather than let her serve time at home using an electronic monitoring device:

a package of 48 tablets of Benadryl (diphenhydramine) to sedate her for 20 days.

All she needs to do is take one 25 mg pill at bedtime, and if that doesn't work up to 2 tablets.

It will clean up her stress-induced rash and help pass the time sedated.
