I found her at the shop,
she even has a name.
E-Vectra is running Linux now,
almost had a cow on XP.
From time to time I shut down
Firefox to bring me memory,
to ease the CPU clock,
God I almost wish it would talk
to me, seems like eternity
to get control back from MPlayer.

She's only four, but she's fibbed
on her birthdate - she's actually eight.
David and Bill's team made her
what she is today, 256 megabytes,
20 gigabytes of hard drive space,
P-3 Celeron, Ethernet, all the peripherals,
even USB running at 900 Megahertz.

My Dog [poem]

12 is old for a dog,
but she still barks when there is trouble in the hood,
so I kept her around
and fed her well with
kibbles and bits.

She may be twelve
but she still knows when trouble's in the 'hood
so i keep her close to me at night,
and put up with her stinky farts.

This old dog's mine
and she still knows when trouble's in the 'hood.
i'll cry when she leaves me in the end,
until I visit the SPCA again.

Karma is not the same as kismet

Speaking at the Cannes Film Festival last week to a Hong Kong TV channel, Stone, 50, said: “I’m not happy about the way the Chinese are treating the Tibetans because I don’t think anyone should be unkind to anyone else.

“And then this earthquake and all this stuff happened, and then I thought, is that karma? When you’re not nice bad things happen to you.”

Karma is not like that at all.

What Sharon Stone is referring to is what is commonly known to Muslims and Arabs as kismet, and what the West knows as predestination i.e that a previous sin will lead to a trial similar to what tested Job. It could also be seen as destiny, because that implies that one's choices influences one's destiny, and that one's bad decision leads to punishment by God.

Specifically regarding karma, it is NEUTRAL, but humans judge a particular situation as bad or good arbitrarily. However, each situation calls for a code of ethics to be followed according to the circumstances.

It only feels right to say wrong action in the past begets bad karma in the future. Why not just use the term "destiny"? Or "kismet?"

Anyone who views karma in terms of an absolute "one-size-fits-all" code of ethics is totally missing the point of Buddhism and Hinduism.

Karma actually works within the framework of situational ethics i.e. under these circumstances, these past actions end up in passing on karma by our actions which is like setting up a row of dominoes, die by die.

Just like dominoes falling, the mishandling of a situation may result in a future result as the karma of the previous action is passed on, but only man judges it to be good or bad, according to his whims.

Therefore there is no such thing as "bad" or "good" with respect to karma.

Depression Due to Loneliness

Our genetic predestiny will tell us to find a mate, and it is half instinct and half intellect going "Woah Nelly!"

When we rationalize that predestiny away, we learn distraction helps remove the pain of melancholy, which is what's left over after binding instinct qnd repressing libido.

However, repressing libido can cause stress which may uncover subclinical schizophrenia.

Depression isn't all about suppressed rage; it's about suppressing instinct with the mind using intellect like damming a mighty river (the libido).

I am not suggesting that the relationship thing is a must, but "mental illness" is not just about child abuse. it's also about self-abuse.

For repressing human nature has consequences, just like a longjam can cause floods, and "mental illness" is that flood.

Thus, depression may simply be due to loneliness, and its etiology a result of repressing the libido.

This is why painting and other creative acts relieve depression. By the act of creation, we release libido in a sublimated manner. By releasing libido, our attention focuses on the created work of art. With our attention focused on creating, less time is devoted to building castles in the mind called neuroses.

When less time is devoted to neuroses, more time can be devoted to activities designed to recreate the Garden of Eden as it were. Hence the term, "recreation".

Therefore hobbies are the most expedient of therapies for depression.

Of the beauty of the Beloved
alone am I advised.
Sincerely with much surprise,
in kind I respond
since friendship transcends gender.

For does not human charms pale
before true Beauty?
And does not human intellect

I Thank God for Being Buddhist Enough to See the Truth

I am thankful to the higher power that is God in being Buddhist, and not having heard of the Christian doctrines that have mislead so many people, and led to much suffering in the past.

If Jesus was out there now, and he is when two or more of us pray together, Christian fanatics would be harassing him.

For example, Jesus never emphasized the soul as a permanent thing that continues after death. This was a Greek and pagan idea incorporated into church doctrine. The Bible is not clear on this point at all. When you point this out, the fanatics get upset and tell you you are dissing Jesus. The truth is, emphasis on the soul concept over what Jesus said dissses Jesus.

As well, the Bible does not put Jesus first. It gives people the option to either go through the Door (Jesus) or to contact him directly (like Job and the prophets). Yet there is a fanatical reliance on Jesus while almost ignoring God. At this point the fanatics declare that "Jesus is Lord" means "Jesus is God". But Jesus said he was a son of man!!!!!!!

If you point this out to fanatics, then they want nothing to do with you because you are dissing their misrepresentation of what Jesus said.

When he said "I am the Truth, the Way and the Life" he did not mean "forget God, follow me". Rather he meant that in transcending ego, you shall find truth and know the way home to the Garden of Eternal Life. Though by "Eternal Life" is not meant a soul that exists after death. Rather, it celebrates God.

Canadian Rights And Freedoms Are At Risk
An Important Notice Regarding Bill C-51

On April 8th, 2008, the Canadian Minister of Health introduced Bill C-51 into the House of Commons. This Bill proposes significant changes to the current Food and Drugs Act that will have wide-ranging negative implications for Canadians.


Bill C-51 will:

· Remove democratic oversight, bypassing elected officials to vote in laws and allow bureaucrats to adopt laws from other countries without our consent.

· Remove 70% of Natural Health Products from Canadians and many others will be available by prescription only.

· Restrict research and development of safe natural alternatives in favor of high risk drugs.

· Punish Canadians with little or no opportunity for protection or recourse for simply speaking about or giving a natural product without the approval of government. More than 70% of people in Canada use a Natural Health Product. The new law goes so far as to warrant action against a person who would give another person an “unapproved” amount of garlic on the recommendation that it would improve that person’s health.


Proposed New Enforcement Powers:

• Inspectors will enter private property without a warrant
  
• Inspectors will take your property at their discretion
  
• Inspectors will dispose of your property at will
  
• Inspectors will not reimburse you for your losses
  
• Inspectors will seize your bank accounts
  
• Inspectors will charge owners shipping and storage charges for seized property

In 2003 Health Canada launched an attack on a group of mentally ill patients and the company who supported them naturally. They seized shipments of a safe natural therapy required by the patients and stormed the support center with 17 armed officers and agents. The company (Truehope) reported that they lost contact with more than 300 of their Canadian participants. The Canadian Mental Health Association told of suicides as a result of government action.



Health Canada then charged the not for profit company, burdening them with heavy legal costs. Truehope was found innocent by necessity and instructed by the judge to continue under legal and moral responsibility. Although the agents admitted knowing they were injuring people through their actions, they stated under oath they care only about policy and directive. And what happened to the more than 300 mentally ill Canadians that became unreachable? In the months and years following, reports of hospitalizations and suicides during the seizures have surfaced. No Health Canada agent has ever been charged.

Commentary:

When Bill C-51 becomes law, that means that I will be arrested in due course since i've been suggesting that natural is better than using pharma meds in non life threatening illnesses.

In fact, me stating "japanese cuisine, eaten in moderation, can save your life" will become illegal to state.

The foods that are life saving are natto, wasabi, chinese cabbage (especially fermented), chinese turnips, (especially ferment ed daikon colored with tumeric), shiso, and purple yam.

Rice is only healthy when eaten with raw fish i.e. on top of rice balls with sliced ginger and wasabi.

Moderate amounts of sake is also healthy when drunk in moderation after a moderate sized meal.
