God Pouring Out His Love Through Jesus (Religion)
While listening to the October General Conference on Sunday, I briefly nodded off.
Due to insomnia, I had gotten little rest the night before.
Anyhow, during that brief moment asleep, I saw a man who I realize now was a water-bearer around whom were gathered a crowd.
"I bring water," he said, "to share with everyone freely so that those of you who drink of it may live."
Having said that, he carefully filled a cup with water from a large water bag on his back, and let each person who had assembled before him drink from the cup.
Then I awoke, and realized that the man was Jesus Christ. Through this dream, God was reminding me of the importance of General Conference to each and everyone who listens to, and/or studies the conferences.
Through all the speakers at the General Conference God is conveying his love for us all. Just as the conference speakers share good news about Jesus, so too is Christ Jesus pouring out his love for all mankind through his atonement, and who sacrificed his life so that we may have eternal life. That love is expressed in Mark 22:37-40 when Jesus says:
"...Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
"This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
"On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets."
For these two commandments confirm that God is pouring out his love for mankind through the Christ Jesus.

Love One Another: Being Nonjudgmental and Accepting of Other Faiths
For it is our love for one another as Christians who help each other realize the value of being nonjudgmental and accepting of other faiths.
In Matthew 7:1-3, Matthew, one of the followers of Jesus, wrote:
"Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?"
These verses advise us to be nonjudgmental since we each see life from our own point of view, and rarely see it from another person's view point. Yet, through compassion and love for others, it is possible to see the whole picture by simply listening to their story about their lives.
In John 8:1-11 is the story of the adulteress. A woman is accused by scribes and Pharisees of adultery, but Jesus told them "he who is without sin among you, let him cast the first stone." After realizing their consciences were not clear, all of the men left, until just Jesus and the woman remained. He asked if any of her accusers remained to condemn her, which she replied "No man, Lord." In response, he said "Neither do I condemn thee. Go and sin no more."
This quote tells us not to condemn others. With the verses in Matthew 7 and John 8, Jesus' commands are clear: judge no one, not even yourself and condemn no one of a sin.
By condemning that woman, the scribes and Pharisees will have committed the sin of murder despite their exception to God's commandment of it.
Only a person who is innocent of all sin may judge others, yet few of us are of such innocence. Yet, by repenting of a sin, we are ready to learn from the act of repentance to refrain from sinning again.
What Jesus commands is that a god-fearing man ought to refrain from judging others lest they condemn someone and commit a greater sin of false accusation (lying about another person's character or conduct).
In response to sin, Jesus commanded "that ye love one another; as I have loved you, that he love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another." (John 13:34)
By loving one another, and remaining nonjudgmental, we as Christians refrain from condemning other people. In the process, the Christian becomes more accepting of others because of her love and respect for both herself and other people.
When it comes time to share your faith with others, it is wise to remember what Jesus said in Matthew 7:6:
"Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you."
In other words, share what is sacred only with people of like mind. For they alone will respect your faith and how you worship.
Be not foolish and preach to anyone who has shown that they refuse to respect your faith, lest they point out the differences between their faith and yours disrespectfully until the both of you commit littles sins in defending your respective faiths.
Instead only share the truth of your faith, be it doctrine or otherwise, using scripture with fellow members of your faith.
Thus, it is wise to agree with your fellow Christians of other faiths on the basic principles of the Christ-centered life: love one another - even your enemies - and judge no one (Matthew 5:43-48, Matthew 22:37-40).

The Etymology of the Christ (self study)
In the Christian sects, "Jesus Christ" predominates as his Latin name. More correctly, Jesus is the Greek version of the Hebrew name, Yeshua. Thus, his first name could also be read as Joshua.
Christ means "the anointed one". The term "Christ" means "Messiah" and can be used interchangeably with respect to Revelation.
Returning to the name of the Lord, "Jesus Christ" is an abbreviation for "Jesus the Messiah." Another acceptable term for Jesus the Messiah is "the Christ Jesus."
To ensure that each Christian sect know that we all are talking about the same Jesus, he is called Jesus Christ.

From Darkness to Light (LDS)
Keeping that in mind and having saved my soul the LDS way, perhaps suicide might prepare my lost soul for a glory so dark that "Telestial" would only add to the confusion.
Although all Christendom might call it "hell", I'd rather call it a dark glory for the wicked, a murky destination interspersed with flashes of what is mistaken for lightning but is actually the arrival of missionaries sent by God to soothe my suffering in the afterlife.
While this cosmological rationalization of the fate of the suicidal in the afterlife may be considered too deep for my followers to fully comprehend, it is designed counter the idea that the least of the LDS glories is always full of gnashing of teeth.
For my understanding of the least of the three glories of the LDS afterlife is of the fitting end to a miserable life where the term "Telestial" comes to mean "the eventual destination of the unbelievers who enjoyed their descent into the darkest of glories only to endure the home visits of elders who minister to them for all eternity."
After long consideration of such a fate, I find it so ridiculous that my melancholy has left me smiling unexpectedly!
It is not schadenfreude - that joy on realizing that suffering is universal - which inspires my change of mood from melancholy to elation.
Rather, I am thankful to the elders and sister missionaries who I have met and helped guide me towards the Light that outshines mortal understanding.
In gratitude of how the Lord works in mysterious ways, I ask myself how any melancholy withstand Him?
It cannot.
For the unconditional love of God Almighty is such that his mercy brightens the lives of all of us who accept his Only Begotten into their lives.

Outer Darkness and Inner Light
Outer Darkness consists of the behavioral and mental negativity such as hate-love, happiness-indifference, sadness-indifference, anger-kindness, jealousy-equanimity, lying-sincerity, miserly-generosity, lust-chastity, and other dualities.
God is the author of good-and-evil, which is not a duality but complementary opposites, for indifference is the true evil. Thus all things are neutral in essence until MAN judges some of them good and their true opposites evil.
This is why acting amorally is evil and acting morally is good.
However, neither acting good or evil but indifferently is a greater sin than picking either good or evil. Choosing devil over God is only a sin when you worship the devil and forget Jesus is lord of us all, but acting devilishly in ignorance is forgiven when you repent of it.
In the final analysis though, Outer Darkness is like wearing black: when you shed the darkness through prayers of earnest repentance, your Inner Light shines.

Perfection (satire)
This is because greater intellect does not preclude insanity, which is validated by schizophrenic people being of a higher intellectual capacity than a person with a mood disorder. Even though bipolar people are highly creative, their tendency toward anxiety in novel situations when not manic tends to moderate their intellect.
As for narcissistic peoples, the only thing they know about the most is themselves, so they would apply their intellect once they confirm what's in it for them, which implies the appearance of high intellect without a corresponding sense of compassion for other people. Were anyone to confront them about their past stupid mistake, things could get really ugly in no time.
Even if we were to evolve, the higher intelligence and reasoning abilities might result in the ability to learn to follow a strict moral code as well as the strong sense of compassion and mercy with the strong risk to develop schizophrenia due to sensory overload caused by too much deep thought.
While it would be cheaper to genetically engineer a human being with superior intelligence and reasoning, it would be impossible to correct the inherent genetic destiny of schizophrenia genetically since most schizophrenia is not due to a genetic predisposition but to not learning successful coping skills in response to stress.
In short, there is no gene that gives you superior coping skills. It has to be learned through experience. Thus, the superior man is not born to cope with life. Rather, he learns how to cope with life through his life experiences.
In conclusion, I reject the nanotechnology and the genetic engineering route for creating the perfect man.
Instead, all it takes is Buddhist learning to perfect the man. This includes daily meditation sessions to develop the calm mind (samatha) necessary to solving koans (vipassana).
Though, the easy way to perfect the man is to chant the Nembutsu or even the Nichiren daimoku "Nam-myoho-renge-kyo". This form of meditation is easy to do, and only requires five minutes or less of chanting daily.
Meditation itself helps Buddhists to discover that Buddha Nature inherent to their own live. Buddha Nature can be considered the perfect qualities of the Buddha which passed into the consciousness stream when he died. Superior intellect, reasoning and morality are three of those perfect qualities.
However, I won't consider this exclusive to Buddhists. Christians use the Sinner's Prayer as an aid to perfect, chanting "God have mercy on me, a sinner" out of humility. Indeed, humility is the essential key to perfection, not the science of technology.

Sunyata (poem)
Indescribable,
Emptiness is
beyond thought and speech,
for mere words cannot describe
ultimate reality.
Everything one encounters
in life is empty
of absolute identity,
of permanence,
and of an in-dwelling 'self'.
For impermanence
is the constant of life;
indeed, it is Truth
of suffering, absolute.
From it comes Buddha-Nature.
Buddha-Nature is
consciousness reborn again.
For all life is impermanent,
and subject to change.
Indeed, this leads to Emptiness.
In emptiness comes
form derived of the Unborn.
In the Unborn comes
emptiness derived of form.
Thus they are of the Unborn.
Yet the Unborn cannot be
described, which brings us
to Emptiness, which cannot
be described in words,
but only experienced.

Kick the Devil Out of The House of God, Christians! (satire)
Therefore, the New Testament's "devil / Satan as embodiment of evil" along with the misappropriated demon "myths" are erroneous doctrines which is mistakenly turned into dogma for the sole reason of controlling a Christian church's congregation.
I contend that these myths are not Biblical and may have been inserted into the Bible or into church doctrine during the days of the Early Church up to and past Augustine's time.
However, in the process of using the devil as a way of using fear to control the congregation, church leaders are actually promoting a subtle devil worship by inculcating an unconscious respect for Satan, often unknowingly.
It is this fear of the devil which violates the commandment of worshiping only the Lord God, and thus opens any church with a doctrine which supports the dualism of good or evil.
For the true church of God is better off with the doctrine of good and evil and respect its Creator.
Indeed, the devil has no place in a house of the Lord. Thus, the good versus evil scenario as predating man is erroneous and un-Biblical.
In teaching the congregation to fear the devil and to love Jesus in diety with Lord God, Christian churches are teaching them satanic dogma, which should have no place in the house of the Lord God.
For God is solely the author of good and evil, and the devil has no authorship for evil.
Only in man is there potential for great evil and for great good.
Being a supernatural being, the devil has no power over us. His actions can only be discerned working through the behavior of our fellow man, and even then it is questionable if the evil of a person's act is due to satan or his own free will.
Indeed, the devil's influence is little — he just makes suggestions that only fools commit as acts which are designed to destroy that fool's self esteem.
Thus the devil's true purpose is to suggest to the fool selfish acts of delusion, to either get him to forget about God through shame or to learn through such failure how to succeed as a man of God.
Indeed, the choice is up to each of us to choose God or the devil, but emphasizing the duality of God or the devil is like playing with fire.
For the Christians have paid dearly for inserting that erroneous duality into their dogma.

The Radical Jesus (satire)
After examining the Jesus picture on Wikipedia, I have found that he also looks Palestinian. For his time, Jesus was a radical. He helped an adulteress, healed a madman, and hung around fishers, tax collectors, and the poor.
At no time did he condemn homosexuality.
Rather this was an edict made by a Byzantine emperor after his Christian mother suggested that homosexuality among the Greek Orthodox Church clergy be banned and all priests be married, except for the archbishop.
Thus the anti-homosexual propaganda made by Christian leaders is originally a State edict that became a controversial doctrine in many Christian churches today.
If a Christian claims that homosexuality is condemned in the Bible, then he is wrong. The Bible makes no such condemnation. Rather, the Sodom and Gomorrah story is a parable about a God who willingly kills people if they don't follow him.
My reason for including a picture of Jesus was to give a wake up call to intelligent Christians to challenge them about the church doctrine condemning homosexuality.
For there is a big difference between being a Christian and hating homosexual people. Jesus said to love one another, and to not judge others.
That was a radical position to take almost 2000 years ago.
Today, the Christians need to cease hate-mongering and reflect Jesus' love rather than hate.

Good Alone Means Nothing (satire)
Empty implies the quality called "good and evil" is not a thing that has been here since the beginning. Instead it is a reified object of abstract origin made to be real which it is not.
Indeed, there is no reified good or evil.
For the "battle between good and evil" is a metaphor for what each person does in his life.
As well, the devil is not a personification of evil opposed to the personification of good (God).
Rather, the devil or satan is merely the metaphor of the Tempter without any power to harm us, just as God is aloof from man. It is within the mind of a person that the so-called battle rages, not from the supernatural realm (a mystical dimension).
For God is the author of good and evil, and Jesus-worship is a violation of the first commandment that God is your Lord, and he does not take kindly to worship of Jesus, whilst forgetting God is in deity with Jesus. All "Jesus is Lord" means is Jesus is the god of the Chrisitans.
Yet, to Christians, Jesus in deity with God means Jesus is Lord God.
Therefore, asking us to accept Jesus into our hearts is unnecessary as God-worshipers such as Jews and Muslims believe in God, and can do very well without Christianity.
For a Christian, Jesus-worship is empty of God-worship but is full of Jesus in deity with God.
What that means is that Jesus became the means by which Gentiles (non-Jews) and Jewish converts came to know God as the Jews tend to keep Gentiles (Goyim) in the dark about all things Jewish.
Thus it became difficult to know God personally as the Jew would stone any Goyim who tried to read the Talmud.
This is why Christianity was invented: to know God by accepting Jesus into their hearts. In this way, the Bible replaced the Talmud and the Jewish tendency to isolate was rejected.
As well, the Salafi Muslims err in persecuting Coptic Christians because their hate crimes against Christians violate Muslim respect for Christians.
Salafi propaganda is a fascist political tool that combines religious hatred for Christianity with violence against Christians, Jews and so-called unbelievers. For them, good means a worldwide Caliphate, which is impossible to arise due to the tendency for humanity to resist against hate and violence.
As much as anti-Semitism against Jews is a hate crime, so too is oppression of Coptic Christians and violence against unbelievers.
For Salafi Muslims are much too zealous to be considered a proper Muslim. Here the good that is full of hate and empty of love for all people as the Salafi display it is untrue and thus a pernicious fallacy inflamed by their zeal.
Were God to bless their enemies, not one Salafi Muslim would view as such. In their blindness, they are led by Shaitan and fooled by Iblis. Yet a Salafi would deny this and resort to violence while affirming that they are led by God to cleanse the land for the future Caliphate.
I do not write this to inflame a man's heart against Islam, but rather to convince people that Salafi Muslim are Muslim only in name. Even if they pray five times a day, they cannot wash off the curse of Cain, which is to murder others out of jealousy over God's blessing of their works.
Just as a Jew Jealously guards his Talmud from Christian eyes, so too does a Salafi guard his faith from the moderation of mainstream Islam, which he finds to be the root of unbelief of the moderate Muslims.
Good alone means nothing to a zealot. For he thinks he is good and others evil. The truth is, good and evil is relative to the situation, and in the situation of the Salafi warrior, it is good to kill unbelievers. His way is subtly influenced by Shaitan.
No matter how many infidels a Salafi warrior kills, his reward will still be the one of what the Christian calls "sinners", which is a time when to help cleanse the warrior of his sins, he will be cast into the pits of the Hells.
What this means is, the Salafi warrior has besmirched his name and brought shame to his ancestors. It is only by the forgiveness of the rest of humankind that their legacy will be redeemed. For there is a purpose to such zealous acts of mayhem and violence.
Since the Salafis see the Coptic Christian displays of piety as sacrilege, it is due to their level of shame which conflicts with the level of pride the Christians demonstrate when consecrating their churches. It makes me wonder if their ancestors were also guilty of condemning the Christ.
Out of their shame they act with the zeal of madman, killing Christians, be they men, women or child.
All the Christians of this world can do is condemn it and think of the good in forgiving the Salafis, for their ignorance of their actions.
That ignorance is what leads to the evil caused by their violence against the Christians.
It is not the Christian's duty to resist evil through violence, lest by raising a hand they go to Hell.
Even though the Jews may laugh at such things, even their actions bear the fruit now of evil rather good. It may be good to Israeli to kill nine Palestinians, but the one Israeli who was shot by a Palestinian sniper was a contractor to the Israel Defence Force. Though it was also a good for the Palestinians to martyr the killers of their people, their revenge is an evil.
Thus, no good will come of it, all this violence in the Middle East.
If I take a side, then I am no better than them. So on this matter, relative to good and evil, neither side is good (worth defending), be it Christian, Jew or Muslim.
For good alone means nothing.

Further Thoughts on Good and Evil
For God is actually the creator of good and evil. Check the Old Testament.
As well, neither the devil nor satan actually are mentioned to in the New Testament except as statement made by Jesus and others e.g. "Satan get behind me" which implies an internal moral struggle to control egoistic impulses with respect to power and control that Satan promised if Jesus were to exercise his divine powers to control others and become "King of the Jews".
Ergo, this duality of God as representative of Good and the devil as representative of Evil is neo-Platonian and thus was influenced Christian doctrine to the point of becoming dogma. The sames goes for the concept of an immortal soul, which has almost become a doctrine which is non-Biblical.
As well, Good and Evil never existed before human existence. Rather, good and evil are concepts thought up by men, and this includes the thought of good and evil existing before man's existence. Thus, I am sympathetic to the Jewish God.
Perhaps the real reason for Jesus was God's way of making up for all the violence he either meted on humanity or got his followers to mete on other people. However, I refuse to be a martyr for Christ.
As a Buddhist, I object to the violence done in the name of Jesus. This includes child abuse done in the name of Jesus, which is not Christian.
For any fundamentalist Christian parents who subject their children to violence in the name of their God, but call it discipline do not know what discipline actually means. Indeed, discipline done in anger too is violence.
Hopefully from this little rant of mine you can understand that a parent who disciplines their child in anger is not doing God a favor.
What has this to do with good and evil? Well, I tend to believe that a person is capable of great evil yet also of great good.
Even so, I also believe that if a person who is good shall become a good person, so too may a bad man, once he turns over to the cause of good, be it as a Christian, Jew, or Muslim, as well as a Buddhist, a Hindu, a pagan, a Wiccan, or even a La Vey Satanist.

Why My Buddhism Turned the Devil into a Dharma Protector (Satire)
This morning I am moved to write about religion, both Buddhist and Christian. If you have an aversion to such things, feel free to stop reading right now because the following prose is beyond your comprehension. Otherwise, please be warned: I am writing from the viewpoint of a Japanese Buddhist. All I can add to this, is in my writing, anything is possible. >:)
So I'm going to start with Jesus, because his story gets a lot of press these days.
Suffice it to say, Jesus did these things: feed the poor, clothe the homeless, cure psychosomatic illness.
Not once in the Bible did I read about him saying, "Persecute homosexuals and other sinners." He never diabolized sin to that extent. Rather, this is dogma of church people who mix up the Old Testament stories about Lot with the New Testament.
In fact, he freed sinners from the diabolizing of people that the Jews did to sinners, which led the early Jewish nation to become a tribe of warriors.
IMO Christianity borrowed heavily from pagans such as Plato and Aristotle, so much so that good and evil became personified as god and satan -- as though they were friend and enemy of Christians.
For Christians, good and evil ae extremes; there is no middle ground.
It's stuff like that makes me glad I was born Buddhist, because Buddhism is the middle ground, and good and evil the result of what each sentient being create.
I don't open myself to spiritual attack from demons by meditating because such a thing is ridiculous to a Buddhist -- we are not devil worshippers; we are worshippers of truth.
Yes, I am suggesting that Christians who use the satanism card to diabolize other faiths as pagan are authors of lies, because their lies began with denying the syncretic roots of Christianity.
In contrast, Buddhism was not founded by the Buddha. Rather, it was renamed by Christian and secular scholars alike in the modern age. For it is the Buddhadharma that was founded by the Buddha over 2500 years ago to address the problems of the nascent Hindu religion called Santanadharma, which was renamed Hinduism by modern Western scholars.
Dharma has many meanings to a Buddhist such as law or teaching. Its meditative techniques work, even without the spiritual teachings of the Dharma. However, meditation works more efficiently with those teachings to guide the meditator.
In contrast, the history of Christianity shows the Church declaring Gnostics to be anathema to their cause, solely because Gnosis is not subject to the control and power of Christians e.g. only elite members of the Church are allowed to "know God" so thoroughly that you become a Bishop or even the Pope.
Gnostics were considered enemies of the State to both Byzantium, the Eastern Roman Empire that followed Greek rituals of Christianity, and the Western Roman Empire that followed Roman ones, but mainly to Byzantium. For the Western Roman Empire's enemies were mainly Gothic, Norman and Vandal mercenaries who practiced a heretical form of Christianity.
Suffice it to say that under these conditions, Gnostic meditative practices were forgotten when Byzantine armies crushed them in the Middle East. It is even said that the libraries of Alexandria in Egypt were put to the torch by a Coptic Pope to ensure that Gnosis was never to be freely available to Gnostics, let alone pagans.
Meanwhile in India, wherever the Buddhadharma spread, local gods were subjugated and added to the Buddhist pantheon of divinities who pledged to protect the Buddha. Thus, when Western civilization entered the Dark Ages, the East became enlightened by the Buddhadharma with the Santanadharma advocates making the Buddha one of its many gods, leading to the famous Hindu-Buddhist university of Nalanda and the spread of Santanadharma into Southeast Asia (Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines).
Perhaps, the proto-Polynesians may have took to the sea so that their gods would not be subject to control by invaders.
In any case, by the time the darkness that befell Western civilization was cast off during the Renaissance, religious ignorance forced Galileo to recant and corruption arose within the Papacy to the point where bestiality, incest and murder became part and parcel of intrigues arising from Christianity's inability to control human desire. IMO this was because Christianity considered the world evil and especially the body as a tool of sin.
Yet, if God made the world, then everything in it is his creation, and thus is good. This even includes the human soul, if both it and God exist. Furthermore, sin is not the same as evil. It is alike to evil karma i.e. the fruit of actions associated with the negative emotions and feelings such as anger, fear, lust, and other confusing feelings.
Even ignorance of god does not make a person evil. Only what he creates by what he does and says may cause the rise of confusion due to negative emotions. This is known as "evil passions" to the Buddhists, and also includes the mental calculations a person makes before she acts on them to make it so in the world.
To a Buddhist, a god being a Dharma protector of the Buddha is the protector of the Buddhadharma. Thus such a divine being is a friend of the Buddha, much as Jesus is a friend of Christians, whose angels protect them from birth. The only difference is, the bodhisattvas, gods and other Dharma protectors all protect the Buddhadharma. A wise Buddhist knows that they do not exist in this reality and that he would thus be foolish to worship any one of them including the Buddha.
If the cosmology of Buddhism actually exists, then it is not in the real world but in the mind of fervent worshippers who may not grasp the symbolism but worship them out of respect for all things divine, especially the Buddhadharma which enshrine the Four Noble Truths.
Such respect is sometimes mistaken by Christians as blind worship akin to paganism, due to their ignorance about Buddhism, which sadly is due to their sole reliance on the Bible. More enlightened Christians have studied Buddhism and have compared it to the Protestant form of Christianity called Methodism minus Jesus.
Indeed, in most Asian countries where Christianity is preached, the word "God" is often replaced with that Asian nation's most often worshipped god, e.g. in Chinese Taoism with the lesser gods being akin to angels and saints. Though, in Japan, Christianity is not as easy to sell because of the Japanese myth that their people are born of the gods.
Thus many of the New Religions in Japan have a corrupted form of God speaking through the founder and even his edicts are made through spirit writing, which predates Pentacostalism's corruption by occultism when they added shamanistic practices to their worship. Of course, most Pentacostals will deny occultism and shamanism in their religious practice, because Christians deny that their religion is of this world.
Yet most of the successful Protestant sects borrow heavily from worldly sources e.g. Billy Graham and other televangelists. Though, Mr. Graham's Christianity is his own, and is thus non-denominational. He actually believes in an immortal soul which is derived from neo-Platonism (a form of paganism developed before the Dark Ages which was revived during the Renaissance. It's not Biblical though, because the New Testament only mentioned "everlasting life", which has nothing to do with immortality, which is more associated with alchemy (an occult art) than with religion.
In Buddhism, the closest one gets to immortality is reincarnation, which has nothing to do with souls reincarnating because Buddhism denies the existence of a soul. Therefore, reincarnation is not about immortality of a soul but it is about karma. For only one's actions are affected by time itself: the karma (actions) I created in the past affect my present condition and my present actions (karma) affect my future (destiny). Indeed, there is no fixed point in time as far as karma goes.
Today, I am a Buddhist, quite possibly due to past karma, both in my lifetime and in the lifetimes of previous incarnations. I might have been a god, a demon, a man or woman, an animal, a hungry ghost or even a hell being. When I die, I am sure to be reborn in the Pure Land. But for now, just sitting is enough for me.

Hananim Died for The Sins of Koreans
Even though I'm Buddhist, I like reading the Rick Ross website, where various Christian authors deconstruct possibly cultic forms of Christianity.
The reason for my interest in Korean Pentecostal Christianity is a quote from a Korean Pentecostal minister who knew Seung-hui Cho (V Tech school shooter) personally.
A second reason is I was handed religious material from a Korean Pentecostal church in my local area, and need background material on it.
My final reason is that a previous girlfriend was from the Canadian Pentecostal movement. In contrast, Buddhism is more of the "sit down and listen" kind of Methodism without the hubris of a God apart from man. More on this point about Buddhism later.
As a Buddhist, I am sometimes moved to check out Christianity from time to time.
My previous encounter with Baptists led to my comment about satan being alive and well among some Christians, especially when they scapegoat an innocent victim either through child abuse or worse, ritual abuse of members (cult worship).
Even though certain Christians may deny it, there is a healthy syncretism done when pre-Christian ideology and rituals are absorbed into Pentecostal practice without use of coercion.
While Jesus may have razed the temple due to money makers profiting from worshippers too busy to meet with the Jewish priests, his violence was contradicted by him rebuking Peter for cutting off a Roman guard's ear when the priests came to take him for his interrogation.
I make this point to show that Jesus tempered his violence against the ritual of proxy worship with his non-violent response to being led away as scapegoat to reduce State oppression by the Roman Empire due to the State's concern and fear of domestic terrorists (the Jewish rebels).
Thus, the very few words of Jesus before the Acts and his actions in the Acts in the Bible is the essence of Pentecostalism. This is why I am interested in it at this time.
Regarding Buddhism, mMost of the Christian fallacies about the Buddha boil down to confusion between what "the divine" means to a Christian and what "sentient" means to a Buddhist. The knowledgeable Buddhist knows what sentience means to him.
By transcending sentience, the Buddha actually transcended divinity itself. Christians get confused by this, because they confuse the Buddha with a god.
Within Buddhist cosmology, even a god is a sentient being i.e. has the potential to become Buddha, but is subject to a finite existent despite living for an almost infinite length of existence. I point this out now because it might come up in future social intercourse with the local Korean Pentecostal church.
Stay tuned for an update.

The Legend of Nazaré

English translation:
"Suffering would bring people closer to Jesus." — Mother Theresa
An Albanian born in Üsküp (Skopje), Kosovo, Anjezë Gonxhe Bojaxhiu, who became Mother Theresa set up the charity works in Calcutta.
After 1995, the UK newspaper The Guardian wrote about her orphanages.
One of the main charges they made was that the care of orphans under Mother Theresa consisted of "gross neglect and physical and emotional abuse."
Thus, by the early 21st Century, Mother Theresa became the least talked about Catholic, due to the impression that she had tortured innocent orphans to glorify God.

Is Jesus God?
In fact it took three Christian councils after Roman Emperor Constantine ordered the First Council to establish that Jesus has two natures, both divine and human, but his divine nature was not corrupted by flesh.
Sadly though, it was a Christian sin to declare humans have two natures like that of Christ, as he was supposed to be unique.
Personally I believe the Nestorian heresy, that Jesus, like all sentient beings, is of two natures, but his divine nature is immaculate. The human nature only occults (hides) his divine nature. To avoid blasphemy and stoning by Jews, the early Christian church never said simply that Jesus is God.
This led to the Nestorian heresy being banned later by a fourth council of concerned bishops.
Short answer: Yes, but needed never to say so, in order to give enough time to spread his message.
Yet the Bible never firmly declared Jesus to be God. That is done through Christological reasoning by taking Old testament statements out of context. In fact, the First Council of Nikai'a (near modern-day Iznir, Yurkey) was held in 325 CE.
It was an established ecumenical council which set precedent for later councils to create statement of beliefs and canons of doctrinal orthodoxy.
In the First Council, the debate surrounding Jesus' divinity was settled. Any priest or bishop who continued to fuel debate had his religious opinion declared heretical if it couldn't be fit into the resulting doctrine that Christ is the one true God in deity with the Father.
Additionally, the First Council established the doctrine regarding the nature of the Son in his relationship to the Father; in particular, whether the Son had been 'begotten' by the Father from his own being, or created out of nothing like other creatures.
Also, the debate regarding when to observe Easter was settled by following the Jewish Lunar calendar for Passover (the Paschal), and marking Jesus' martyrdom on the first Sunday after the Paschal Full Moon.
However, the fact remains that an unmarried Jewish woman was made pregnant by God after an angel told her of this.
Ironically though, this immaculate conception by Mary is sometimes forgotten when unwed Christian mothers are unjustly turned away by certain Protestant Christian communities.
Thus Church doctrine states clearly that Jesus is the One True God in deity with God.
Even so, the question is actually unanswerable since you and I have a only a vague idea what being deity with God actually means. Simply, it means Jesus is not simply God, but his Begotten Son, which means Mary is now the Virgin Mary and thus puts undue emphasis on sexual virginity, ignoring the fact that being a virgin at the time of Christ's birth only meant a woman was unwed.
This is but a small matter today, as Jesus was most likely born in late spring rather than December 25.
But that's worth a new blog entry when it's closer to Christmas...

Christian Meditation
As well, there is nothing in Christianity that states "consistently pray to Jesus, and you will be cured of social anxiety and depression."
Rather, what is stated is that by confession of your sins and calm reflection on your errors through prayer and meditation, it is possible to achieve the spiritual healing through daily application of a Christian-based meditation.
With regard to meditation, there is nothing wrong with getting closer to Jesus through the Christian meditative experience. I do not believe it leads to any of the spiritual errors suggested by Christian critics, who base their criticism on fear and ignorance.
Christian meditation is not New Age meditation, since it is based on the Bible.
According to Saint Gregory of Sinai, the goal of Christian meditation is "seeking guidance from the Holy Spirit, beyond the minor phenomenon of ecstasy."
Yet such meditation is not for every Christian.

Preach to the Sinner, Post-modern Prophets!
If you choose to interpret the Bible on your own, then you suffer the fate of modern-day prophets today.
Being a prophet in post-modern times implies that you will not be heard by non-believers.
Rather, your audience will be those who have the ears and mind to scrutinize what they have heard, using their well-exercised doubt to glean illumination from what post-modern prophets say in these latter days.
In short, the prudent of today's prophets say to the world:
Dear Lord Jesus, God
have mercy on me, a sinner.
Amen.

Omni-benevolence and God
Perhaps He is an incredible scientist who began all Creation but has no power to prevent natural catastrophe or 9-11. An omnipotent God should be able to prevent things like that from happening.
If God can't do this wonderful stuff, then what is the point of worshipping?
It would be irresponsible for us to think of God the way as described above. He is a omni-benevolent being, not an omnipotent being.
God's job isn't to prevent natural catastrophe or 9-11. To wish that he did is magical thinking. His job in part is to help us use such events to turn away from sin and seek salvation.
Therefore the point of worship is renew faith in God's free offer of salvation and maintain belief that Jesus died for our sins.
With faith everything good is possible for us.

The Trinity
I'm going with the three-in-one oil analogy on this one.
Three-in-one oil was invented in 1894 by the inventor George W. Cole of New Jersey.
Its name is derived from the oil's ability to clean, lubricate and protect. Originally, the oil was used for bicycles.
How is the Trinity like three-in-one oil? Faith in God frees us from sin's hold on us. As a result, we become spiritual cleansed of sin. This arises from the belief that Jesus died for our sins.
What part of the Trinity is like lubrication? The Holy Spirit moves the godly to act, speak and think in a way which respects God, holds other people in high respect and moves one to behave, speak and think in a loving and kind manner.
Indeed, in the Bible, oil represents the Holy Spirit:
"The Spirit of the Lord GOD is on me;
because the LORD has anointed me to proclaim good news to the humble.
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim liberty to the captives,
and release to those who are bound..." — Isaiah 61:1
At the root of this is God's love for us because He is our protector. However, all of this refers to the spiritual realm, the deeper meaning of God in the believer's life.
For God is great in that He is Jesus, He is the Holy Spirit and He is the Father; yet He is all-loving but harms none.
