Kim Kardashian Has a Normal Female Body (satire)

In my opinion Kim has a normal female body that is mistaken for fat. However, upper middle class people tend to overeat in excess in response to stress.

Poor people, on the other hand, have to go without the two extra meals that constitute the "normal" three meals a day, which actually is abnormal in people over the age of 30, due to the prevalence of high carbohydrate content in those three meals.

I disagree with dieticians that you need three meals a day after the age of 30. You actually need one meal a day and lots of snacking to a maximum of 1000 calories (2000 calories if you lead a strenuous life e.g. body building and similar). YMMV

As well, the privileged tend to overindulge in high ethanol consumption over the 3-4 units a day (each unit = 10 g of ethanol) to a max of 800 ml of 5% beer / 400 ml of 10% wine / 100 ml of 40% hard liquor.

Based on the assumption of 7 calories per gram of ethanol, 40 g of ethanol == 210 calories, which is about 18% of a 1000 calorie / day intake of food.

Yes, alcohol is a food, but the privileged tend to overdo it without cutting out carbohydrates and restricting their fat intake to less dangerous fats such as coconut oil. That's why I rarely go fast food because it rarely has good fat in it.

If Kim cut out the cocktails, changed the kinds of fats she consumed and reduced her carbohydrates intake, she can easily slim down. In fact, she's shown that she can do it.

However, Kanye likes his hard liquor. If that is addressed, then I predict marital bliss for them.

Kim is obviously not drinking booze, being pregnant and all. Most likely, she is knocking back immense amounts of carbohydrates and the wrong kind of fats without doing enough exercise, and that is the reason for the high weight gain.

So her complaints about being fat are nothing new.

Xylitol and Its Health Benefits

Back on August 8, 2010, I looked in my stash of snacks and remembered that I had a bag of sugarless candy I seldom eat. Curiosity about the sugar alcohols such as mannitol, sorbitol and xylitol led me to Google xylitol.

According to Wikipedia, Xylitol may help in dental care, diabetes, osteoporosis, ear and upper respiratory infections, infection, and reduction of oral infections of candida yeast. It also benefits for pregnant or nursing women.

Yes, sugar alcohol have the negative side effect of flatulance and diarrhea. However, their benefits are less dental caries ("No cavities!"), moderation of blood sugar levels, and improved health overall.

Thus, with moderation, my small supply of sugarless candies may actually have health benefit due to the xylitol in them.

In contrast, both sorbitol and mannitol do not have the same properties as xylitol.

Sorbitol causes flatulence and is a laxative.

Mannitol is similar to sorbitol, having the same number of carbon, hydrogen and oxygen atoms in it but arranged differently. However, it dissolves in water at a slower rate, which in a chewing gum, would require less of it.

Trident Original sugarless gum contains xylitol in it. Other Trident gums containing xylitol include Trident Fusion and Stride

Wrigley's Orbit gum comes in packages containing 6 pieces; or the round containers

In Canada, xylitol-only gum is sold by bulk or in bottles and jars,

Due to the cost of xylitol, xylitol-only gums are priced higher than other gums.

Magnesium and Depression

Rapid recovery from depression is possible according to this site: http://www.newtreatments.org/Hypomagnesia/ga/203

Check the section "Foods That Contain 100 mg or More of Either Calcium or Magnesium per 100 Grams (3-1/2 oz)" for foods to manage depression and other mental disorders.

The Unscientificness of "Evidence" for Weight Loss Product

"Scientific Study # 1: One recent 8-week randomized, double-blind placebo study of 30 moderately obese individuals yielded some interesting results. The group was broken up into three groups of 10.
Group 1 received just the calcium/potassium salt of 60% HCA extract from Garcinia cambogia. Group 2 received Garcinia cambogia extract, chromium polynicotinate, and Gymnema sylvestre extract. Group 3 received a placebo.
All individuals were placed on a 2000 kcal/day diet; ingested the recommended test supplements 3 times a day, 30 to 60 minutes before meals; and completed their supervised walking 5 times per week.
The results: Group 1 lost, on average, 12.1 pounds. Group 2 lost, on average, 14.99 pounds. Group 3 (just diet and exercise) lost, on average, 3.06 pounds. Obviously, these ingredients work together to increase fat oxidation and promote weight loss.
Scientific Study # 2: In this double blind study, 60 moderately obese individuals were assigned to the same three groups as study # 1. After 8 weeks, group 1 lost an average of 10 pounds. Group 2 lost 12.54 pounds. And the placebo group lost 3.53 pounds.
The overwhelming conclusion from both studies is that supplementation with the combination of hydroxycitric acid, niacin-bound chromium, and Gymnema Sylvestre Extract can help people with weight management."

The cohort size (number of people in study) for both examples is 30 and 60 respectively, which is many times smaller than what science demands (200+). Anyone who believes this ad needs to work more hours to pay for a diet one could make with help from a dietician for far cheaper!!!

As well, there is no statistical breakdown of weight-loss which adds up to the total of the group. Rather, averages are used. Furthermore, no standard deviation for each group is given.

When you compare the groups that lost weight, the difference in loss ranges from 2.54 to 2.89 pounds, which is not a big difference. The only conclusion one can make is that placebo diets do not help you lose weight. Another conclusion that can be made from a quick reading of the ingredients in the diets mentioned is that regularity is a normal part of any diet, that is, regular excretion of faeces guarantees that you will lose weight, probably due to dehydration.

Overall, this part of the ad for the diet is unscientific.

Poor Diet Kills

**I am using two personal examples because I knew these people. Though I regret having to add personal details where I see fit, hopefully that gives you a more complete picture...

1. My Father
My father used to eat the most unhealthiest food, basically meat and potatoes with gravy and lots of salt and the occasional beer.

He also would respond to defiance to his authority with anger, and took delight emotionally abusing my mother.

Yet he also would have social anxiety sometimes.

Then he had a stroke in 1995 and died on May 2, 2007, age 86. He gradually faded away over 12 years.

Yet the emotional abuse continued because my mother opted for home care until he requested he be placed in a hospice.

My suspicion is that he may have been depressed all along, since men display depression differently from women.

The social anxiety and the aggression are clues that possibly diet played a role in his mental health. anger management issues are associated with depression in men.

2. My Best Friend

To add to this refutation that a poor diet does not affect a person's disposition, let me give you a brief history of my best friend.

My best friend passed away May 27, 2006, age 52, from pancreatic cancer. He'd been diagnosed circa 2004.

A recovered alcoholic, he'd stopped drinking circa 1991.

Between 1996 and 2004, I can recall that he had a sweet tooth and smoked alot, but had cut down A LOT since his heart attack in 2004.

The meals he ate contained meat and potatoes, and he explained that well-cooked vegetables cannot be determined by sight alone, he'd always been shy of cooking them.

Clinical depression is associated with pancreatic cancer, and, when the cancer impairs the pancreas' ability to secrete insulin, diabetes -- which is associated with schizophrenia.

In the case of my friend, I suspect that because he relied on alcohol for most of his calories for most of his adult life and loved sugar, that both substances mainly and possibly exposure to industrial solvents, including the use of isopropyl alcohol to relieve joint pain, and the use of painkillers may have contributed to both the heart attack and accelerated the development of pancreatic cancer.

He also had anger management issues especially with respect to social communication. Yet he evolved from having a god complex to a philosophy of "it's my way or the high way" mixed with "only the most loyal should endure my final moments".

And endure his final moments I did.

In retrospect, both my parents liked him a lot because he was sociable.

Positive Attitude

At a time when people are so conscious of maintaining their physical health by controlling their diets, exercising and so forth, it makes sense to try to cultivate the corresponding positive mental attitudes too.
