Sexual Stereotyping Evidence of Patriarchy's Gender Binary Propaganda (satire)

Sexual stereotypes like this are based on binary genderism promoting the male versus female differences.

Regarding women seeking the strongest type, not all strong men are capable of becoming the equal in a relationship.

Likewise the stereotyping of men as always looking for other women.  In certain cases, this may be true but most of the time, the man has female friends who are not truly  rivals, but are sought out because the girlfriend or wife is unable to articulate herself in a straightforward way that makes sense to a man.

Flirting with a rival male to make a male significant other jealous isn't straightforward.  It is a mindgame because a simple request to pay attention to her ought to be a part of the social compact that males and females implicitly agree to.

Mind reading by either sex is also a mind game since neither of us is telepathic.

Thus, the statement — "the males are like Bluetooth and females, WiFi" — is flawed.

Any male or female who tries to use it as a guide to a strong relationship will eventually find the stereotypes enable fallacies about male and female human beings, which may lead to either fanatical belief in, and enforcement of, the gender binary or worse,  unhappy relationships and marriage.

Relationships are very much more complex than the internet and its technology.

Even so, the humor is appreciated.  If you thought I was being sarcastic, then you are correct.

For sexual stereotypes are tools used by the patriarchy to maintain the lie that gender is binary.

Neoconservative elites of the patriarchy both in the Church and the State need to make money, and simplifying gender into a binary is what heteronormative means, since it simplifies the sales of product based on the gender binary of man and woman.

While I am not an expert on gender and relationships,  I do understand that the statement that "men=Bluetooth and women=WiFi" means that we have a lot of work to do to expose the fallacy of gender as binary for the lie that it is.

Furthermore, the fallacy that men and women are like technology shows that this hilarious post reflects the extent that the "gender as binary" propaganda of neoconservative elements in Church and State is spoonfed into children's minds from cradle to grave.

Synopsis of what I just wrote:  men and women are not technology but instead are complex people. If you believe that gender only exists as a binary of man and woman, then you have fallen for the propaganda that follows us from cradle to grave. 😉

Rant about the UBC Rapist (satire)

I am a man and according to feminist thetoric I am inherently sexist. Isn't that too a sexist statement? Yes, neither side of the gender divide is innocent of sexism.

Oh wait1 I am not supposed to be ranting incoherently that is off topic. :p

Feminism is not free of bias itself. Since it is too inherently biased, then it becomes like a filter that facilitates dialog between all genders.

At 50, I realize that my biases are partially inherent. I refuse to exaggerate the sexism inherent in male rhetoric. There is no such thing as male sexism being totally inherent because such extremes are few in number.

For confirmation bias denies this, and a few feminists prove my point when they discuss the male stereotype.

Another feminist bias regards women as a visible minority when unemployed and underpaid. This depends on the age group.

Sometimes feminist rhetoric tends to turn grey areas of human civilization into black and white caricatures of reality while presenting it as reality.

Overall there is a gender bias present which is more subtle than men acknowledge.

How am I to be free of such bias if the confirmation bias of feminists label some of my actions as sexist yet sometimes deny theirs to be sexist by use of the fallacy that all men are sexist while subtly stating that only men are sexist.

The truth is, belief in the gender binary makes men and women equally culpable in being sexist. Either gender, be it male or female, is capable of using fallacies to propagandize their confirmation biases about gender.

When a person encounters such biases and does not question them, there are many reasons for non-confrontation of these biases.

Confrontational methods of dealing with gender biases common to the limitations of the gender binary may be observed by a person as a political ploy to exercise freedom of expression and of associations.

So feminists protest publicly the glass ceiling's effect on women's wages. Then the term "rape culture" is used to morph sexual assaults of women into attempted rape and label the survivors of such assaults as victims.

In response, I deny that there are victims; there are only survivors of sexual assault. Even when the perpetrator escalates his violence against some women in the future, and rape become likely, they are then survivors of rape.

My reason for removing the term "victim" from my rhetoric is to imply that the human species is capable of surviving violence.

Not all men are rapists, nor is a man inherently violent. Both genders are capable of violence.

Therefore, the introduction of victimology into the discussion of sexual violence is inherently an artifact of the patriarchy that pervades society at this point in time.

Thus, by using the term "survivor" I have reframed sexual violence in a pro-active manner, rather than catering to a patriarchal bias by calling a victim a survivor.

This reframed view turns a victim into an empowered individual, and negates the perpetrator's impact. For victimology implies that there is a victim and a perpetrator as well as a them versus us ideology.

Calling such a victim a survivor does not negate the victim's experience. Rather, it removes the survivor from remaining powerless.

What does this make the perpetrator but a potential rapist? Especially when he escalates his violence.

As for myself, I have no sympathy for the rapist. He thinks he is entitled to exercise his power over a potential victim because in doing so, his loss of control over his sexual urges motivates him to gain control over someone potentially weaker than him.

How ironic that something that uncontrolled results in a show of power that reflect a hidden impotence!

If a man needs that much excitement in his life, then he is truly a sexual psychopath. Even though he may have a partner, not even she and his circle of friends would suspect him of such a crime.

A prime example of this is the UBC rapist whose six victims I only see as six survivors of an inept offender who gave up when his crimes became known.

To the survivors I have this to say: "through no fault of your own you survived a terrifying act of violence and prevented rape.

Thus you six prove that there is no rape culture at UBC."

These six acts of violence reflect instead a rape culture inherent with the perpetrator's family within their community.

Meditation on Gender, Western and Eastern Cultures, and Psychotherapy

May everyone be at peace with themselves.
May everyone progress in their spiritual journey.
May everyone endeavor to perfect their minds.
With peaceful heart, may this one walk the path
towards the moment of putting out the fire,
and thus passing onto a higher plane.

Analysis of meditation

"Be at peace" implies a peaceful heart.

"Progress" accepts that not all people who desire a perfect mind have a perfect body.
However, with more effort the dedicated practitioner achieves more peace and calm.

"Endeavor" implies that all one needs to do is act to perfect your mind. Perfection of a mind implies that one learn to meditate. It does not happen right now; yet even after the first week, meditation will lead one to a perfect mind.

With peace comes satisfaction. This is a given. In walking the path, this one encounter less obstacle to reach the goal all Buddhists desire: Nirvana. This desire is not tainted by desire for fame or gain, because that desire corrupts the mind.

Thus one needs to put out the fire of desire, so that one may pass onto a higher plane of existence. This higher plane does not make the earnest practitioner above it all. Rather, she sees no difference between herself and another person with regard to the mind.

A Meditation on gender

For the only difference between man and woman is physical. Our description about the human condition is gender neutral. Likewise, gender is actually unimportant.

In denying women access to the tools of Buddhism such as meditation and the breathing exercises, the Theravada form is sexist to Westerners whose culture is highly sensitive to women's rights. Yet the Theravada form is fostered in a culture where sensitivity to women's rights is fine in politics, but not in religion.

Thus, the apparent sexism is designed to help women understand their place in that culture, which is called Eastern.

Eastern and Western Cultures

Were I to blend the two cultures, it is possible to have a broader understanding of both cultures so that Westerners may understand Eastern culture.

As well, to criticize Theravada Buddhism effectively, the practitioner needs to understand his culture and its effect on Buddhism.

For why is it that Zen is favored over other forms of Buddhism. Shingon Buddhism may
look like a mix of mysticism and symbolism, but it works for a Shingon practitioner.

Psychotherapy and Buddhism

Yet Buddhism is practical for anyone to use, and the breathing exercises of meditation have been incorporated in cognitive behavior therapy.

Thus a psychotherapy that incorporates meditation as its therapeutic tool only uses it to achieve a calm mind. By separating the spiritual part of meditation from the physical part of breathing and posture, such a psychotherapy is devoid of spiritual development.

In this way, anyone can use such therapy to reduce the effects of stress so that one can do anything. Yet there are few statistics on how meditation relieves stress.

Final Meditation

May all who read this know that this person who wrote these words that the spiritual journey is a sacred one, yet it is also a personal journey of self-discovery.

May all know that "self" in context of the spiritual journey is not the ego, that part of a person's psyché that motivates one to seek comfort and satisfaction.

For the "self" this person speaks of is the higher self on that higher spiritual plane which few people achieve except for the greatest of practitioners.

May all also know that "this person" refers to the author of this meditation.

May all who read this discover happiness to be not a goal but a state of mind that is fleeting.

May all who achieve this state of mind of happiness be satisfied with their lot.

For to desire happiness is unwise; it would be better to enjoy the moment.

May all who achieve happiness know that meditation is more fun when you are happy.

May all who realize how fun meditation is, focus on their breath.

The above is an example of how I explore Buddhist meditation. I don't just sit on my ass gazing at my navel.

Since meditation helps me to think even though my body is tired, it is in my best interest to use the tools before me to put my thought down.

My mind requires self expression, yet in this blog entry, that expression is done so that the gentle reader may understand where I am coming from.

As well, there is a minor catharsis occurring when I express myself. Even though my writing is not sophisticated and tempered by academic training, its topic at the moment is religion but not the religion most people are adverse to.
