Post-modern Reality is a Dream World (satire)

Mainstream media is full of the modern-day equivalent of myths and superstition e.g. Zionists rule the world. Popular culture is probably a modern paganism e.g. the worship of celebrities. Even science is worshipped, as are certain politician e.g. Chomsky and Sagan.

This is what I call secular religionism. Not even are free of this because no one is immune to belief and faith.

Without belief, we doubt reality. Without faith, we are nothing but pathetic creatures. Hence the rise in sales of antidepressant after 9-11 is because a tragedy destroys our faith in the reality of our own making ("America is invincible").

Even atheists are not immune to this ability of the human mind to create an inner narrative in a desperate attempt to adapt to the rapidly changing physical reality of our existence.

Why else do they rail against religionists of the Abrahamic faith (Judaism, Christianity and Islam)? Why else do they not even have the patience to sit with religionists to cobble together a code of conduct?

Perhaps a few atheists and religionists are so fucking smart that they are this close to being crazy. For genius may be the positive side of madness.

Often they do not make sense to me e.g. "the more often you insist the truth is real, the most likely it may be a lie." This kind of fallacy implies that truth tellers are liars and covert sociopaths. That would depend on whether a truth teller is willing to do anything to expose the lies which help maintain the dreamworld of modern existence.

One of the biggest examples of this sociopathy that makes up the reality of life is the Amanda Todd story. Mainstream media is pimping the fantasy that an online stalker is the cause of Amanda's death by suicide when, in actual fact, it was the loss of mother love that led to her untimely death.

So I urge the truth tellers to expose the lies about the suicides of other girls like Amanda Todd. In each related case, there are clues pointing to mental illness like depression and even bipolar disorder. In a recent rape case that resulted in the girl's suicide, she was a willing participant in seuxal activity.

However, the boys who posted the video to the Internet are nothing but pornographers and online bullies. Likewise, the online bullies of Amanda Todd used to be her best friends.

I doubt anyone would believe what I have written in this post. Indeed, I insist that you research the Amanda Todd case instead of falling for the propaganda the mainstream media is feeding you. To help you, the tags attached to this post will point you in the right direction.

If, on the other hand, you believe I am lying, then it is because nobody can handle the truth, not even you.

Deal with it.

A Chink in Your Armor (satire)

I grew up in a small town called Aldergrove.

In that town in the late 1960s, everyone knew your business, except my family was Japanese. Within earshot, the racists who resented us would mutter, "Dirty Jap!"

Little did they know, few of the Japanese Canadian were disloyal to Canada, which shows you how little they knew us!

Once in high school, one of the more ignorant white kids might mistake me for Chinese, and call me "Chink". This amused me so much that I quickly retorted, "That is because I am a chink in your armor!"

Indeed, the Asian immigrants of Canada fit in the chinks in the multicultural chain mail coat of the white majority, though sometimes a racist incident may shake off the flakes of Canadian society.

Thankfully, my memories of high school are rather selective, for there are stories that lay buried in my subconscious to inspire a few of my articles on this blog.

Though I may tell these small-town stories in metaphorically symbolic terms using mytho-poetic language while shielding the guilty from embarrassment to protect the innocent from harm.

Oh, there shall be no naming of names, but in order for me to come to terms with the demons of my past, this marks the beginning of that journey through a small-town world that I thought I had forgotten.

Having a chink in your armor means that if the lance of Truth meets its mark, the ignorance about Japanese Canadians will fall away.

For I am but a Canadian born Japanese who may have some truth telling to give life to future stories on his blog.

"Satan is Dead": The Myth of Satanism

The marketing of satanism as diabolism is silly. Human sacrifice in modern times is murder, no matter how it is rationalized by purported satanists. Indeed, the devil, satan, and even demons are mental and physical negativities of a person or group of people.

Yet, as a Buddhist, I believe that good and evil have no external existence as fixed points of time and space. Rather, what we create has either good and evil attributed to it by public opinion.

Everything I just said about evil in the previous two paragraphs applies to God. Yes, I am saying God and even Jesus are projections of basic goodness.

However, mixing Christian sybolism with Buddhist symbolism often leads to cognitive distortions like confusion and even cries of syncretism despite the fact that much of the Bible hints at syncretism in the New Testament.

Even so, I will deny that the mind stream is akin to the soul, which violates the no-self principle. For even the soul is subject to a finite existence.

Even though this brings up eternal life and how Christians misinterpret Buddhism, I'm not talking about it. I'm discussing the myth of satanism.

Mass media loves to perpetuate the propaganda about satanism because it scares the churchpeople and then they can do public service by doing a mini series about it.

Even so, I will stick to my denial about satanism. My earlier comment about human sacrifice being diabolism implies only that the evil that man does is created by his acts against humanity.

Ok, I'm done with this topic for the time being, but reserve the right to beat this dead horse some more.

Oh yes! SATAN IS DEAD! Vive le diable!

Truthful Speaking: Circles, Illumination and Transparent Life

In the John Crowley novel, "Engine Summer", something deep and enlightening is explained regarding the circumstances of life. Painted Red, a gossip, is explaining to the protagonist, Rush that Speaks, about his destiny to become a saint.

"A life is circumstances. Circumstances are encircling, they're circles. The circle of a saint's life , all its circumstances, is contained in the story of his life as he tells it; and the story of his life is contained in our memory of it. The story of his life is a circumstance in ours. So the circle of his life is contained in the circle of our lives, like circles of ripples rising in water. — John Crowley, in Engine Summer; page 412, Otherwise

Life refers to "the state of being which begins with generation, birth, or germination, and ends with death; also, the time during which this state continues."

Circumstances refers to your overall circumstances or condition in life (including everything that happens to you)."

In the etymology of "circumstance", it is defined as "conditions surrounding and accompanying an event," from Old French circonstance "circumstance, situation," also literally, "outskirts" (13c., Modern French circonstance), from Latin circumstantia "surrounding condition," neuter plural of circumstans (genitive circumstantis), prp. of circumstare "stand around, surround, encompass, occupy, take possession of" from circum "around" (see circum-) + stare "to stand" from PIE root *sta- "to stand" (see stet). The Latin word is a loan-translation of Greek peristasis.

Circumstances also refers to possibilities.

Circumstances thus refers to events in a person's life which is told "in the story of his life as he tells it."

Using the Filing System and its slides as a simile, Painted Red helps Rush to explain his understanding of the stories of the saints within context of the person listening to it.

"...They (the saints) made their lives transparent ... and their lives can be placed before our own, in our remembering their stories, and reveal things to us about ourselves...

They're saints, not because of what they did, especially, but because in the telling of it, what they did became transparent, and your own life could be seen, through it, illuminated." — ibid.

Through the stories of saints, a person is able to see clearly the circumstances of her own life. By telling the story of a saint, he could see his own life clearly. In this way is his life illuminated.

Painted Red then explain thats truthful speaking is the foundation of a transparent life that frees a person from death to live a life transparent in their circumstances.

"Without truthful speaking, there could be no transparent life. And in transparent life, the saints hoped that one day we might be free from death; not immortal, as the angel tried to become, but free from death, our lives transparent even as we live them: not through a means, you see, like the Filing System or even truthful speaking, but transparent in their circumstances: so that instead of telling a story that makes life transparent, we will ourselves be transparent, and not hear or remember a saint's life, but live it: live many lives in the moment between birth and dying." — ibid.

Truthful speaking helps the speaker to see life clearly. In this way, she is free from death, not in the sense of seeking immortality like angels. but by truthful speaking. For it makes for a life that is "transparent in their circumstances."

In this way, by being seen clearly as she is, not merely hearing a story of a saint's life, she is actually living "many lives (of the saints) in the moment between birth and dying."
