The Egalitarian Matriarchy (satire)

According to the feminists and the goddess movement, the world is run by a patriarchal system known by other names such as the world bank system.

While the conspiracy theory that purports such a system is anti-Semitic and thus unworthy of respect, the term "patriarchy" deserves definition, being a system run by men for the benefit of men by keeping men in power.

In contrast, the term "matriarchy" must first be defined by what it isn't: it isn't a system run by women for the benefit of women by replacing men in power with women. Rather, a matriarchy is essentially an egalitarian system in which men, women, and children exist, free of the need for men or women to have power over everyone.

Thus, a matriarchy is potentially more democratic than a patriarchy which has more often than not co-opted democracy to keep men in power.

Yet men who derive their power from a patriarchy are adverse to the idea of a matriarchy, sometimes referring to it as a "tyranny of women" that trumps male power.

Ironically, male power within a patriarchy is a myth as boys and men are a higher risk of death and rape at an earlier age than girls and women.

While it is unknown if a matriarchy would reduce the risks inherent in a patriarchy such as murder and rape, it would be workable within populations of 10,000 people, and does not require dismantling the overlaying patriarchy.

For a matriarchy exists when a group of mothers and daughters rule their families in an egalitarian fashion.

In contrast, when the girlfriend or wife rule in an unfair manner ("women are allowed to freely express their anger but men are censured for being angry"), this is a form of patriarchal suppression since the reason for women censuring male anger is out of fear of male rage. In such situations, compliant men learn express male anger in a manner acceptable to women.

Such matriarchies exist in secret within Muslim culture, especially in Middle Eastern countries where the State is secular. In Afghanistan during the Taleban regime prior to 2003, matriarchies were disassembled one by one through what amounted to violent genocide.

Thus, within Muslim fundamentalist regimes, the overlaying patriarchy fears greatly the power of the matriarchy, and are killing key members of society, both male and female, to reduce its influence over women.

How well does a patriarchy rule its men, using fear and the myth of male power? For not only does such a regime kill women and girls, it also kills any boy or man who does not support its way of doing things.

In essence, a patriarchy works when everyone believes in the myth of male power.

Yet statistics prove time and time again that more men and boys die at the hands of men more often than girls and women do.

Even so, a fair matriarchy which operates in an egalitarian fashion within a family protects everyone from the ravages of patriarchy.

However, it is up to the wives, mothers and daughters to trump male power by exposing the myth to their children instead of perpetuating it.

For democracy is learned at the knee of a mother, not in the marketplace.

The Myth of the Patriarchy

Almost every man who is divorced agrees with me about the costs of dating a suitable mate, marrying her, and if it sours, alimony for the wife, sometimes with bad blood sown by divorce lawyers and their psychological warfare BS they feed the women.

It's true that the patriarchy has been cooked up to oppress feminists since time immemorial is a bald-faced lie, and truer that men have no privilege in that so-called patriarchy today.

None.

For divorce has exposed the patriarchy as myth.

You can Get Raped But Not Protest Rape in the World's Largest Democracy

While the lady raped on the bus in Delhi got emergency treatment in Singapore, the 17-year old girl who was raped recently by an auto rickshaw driver committed suicide.

The reason why has led to police officials getting canned.

Why should a minor who has been raped either choose between marrying the man who raped her or settling for blood money from his rapists? Especially when the police refused to file the rape complaint, which actually victimized the young woman as much as the rape itself.

If this is how the officials of the world's biggest democracy handle rape cases, it shows that the State is highly patriarchal in nature.

Even though India may be a nuclear power, domestically it seems democracy cannot inculcate in its men full respect for its women.

IMO it looks like in both cases, the men were investing in their manhood more than in any respect for women.

Their actions were predatory in nature, and in both cases, the police have failed in their duty to the State to protect The People.

My Hope for the Future

Overall, reduction of oppression of women of color. This may be done by egalitarian means.

Elimination of child neglect and child abuse.

Elimination of the glass ceiling for women, or better, women executives competing on the same level of men, due to men's enlightened attitude, throwing off patriarchy's disempowerment of both men and women.

Discovering evidence to counter the effect of religion as disempowering women by making Buddhist practice less of a religion and more of a lifestyle change. For Buddhism has shown that when practiced outside of patriarchies in an egalitarian society, demonstrates that Buddhist women benefit as much as men do.

As well, I believe that less oppression and sexism actually occurs in society than it did 100 years ago.

However, neither men nor women should be the privileged sex, as both feminism and patriarchism promise.

Rather, an egalitarian society without glass ceilings, oppression of women and of men, and safety of boys and girls from harm is the ideal.

As well, it's time to change myself for the better to ensure these hopes are put into action first through speech and followed through with action.

"Who's that Girl?"

When I scoped out this picture of Prime Minister Harper, his chief of defense and associated military brass, I thought, who is the female aide to PM Harper on the far right?

She is military, but she isn't wearing the green, but won't ever be at the front because she's too valuable being the Harper's gofer.

Let's hope she stays out of trouble after hours and makes a long stay in the PMO.

Any trouble won't be entirely her fault, though. How would I know? Well, the government is always a patriarchy carefully watched over by a benign matriarchal group of underlings...

War on Terror Not Religious

Regardless of anything to the contrary, the American-led "war on terrorism" isn't really a religious war at all.

Rather, this is the legacy of 6000 years of androcratic devolution of human
civilization.

Even so-called primitive tribals of India are being forced into Hinduism
just because they are more equalitarian than Hindus by not practising the
degenerate practice of child marriage.

This is proof that the so-called primitives are more civilized than the
so-called civilized Hindus, Muslims and Sikhs.

Likewise for similar "civilized" practices of Judaism, including biting off
parts of a male infant's foreskin during cricumcision, and equating
anti-Americanism with anti-Semitism (thus pretending to "own" America).

And ditto for similar practices of Christianity such as obstructing traffic
in Vancouver on a busy street so that some protestors get run over
by buses, condemning abortion killers yet not being vocal in decrying such
violent acts which are equally heinous to abortion, Protestants endorsing US
foreign policy, Catholic clergy playing politics in 3rd world nations but
leaving their flock to face trumped up charges when genocide occurs,
continuing the war on drugs whilst turning a blind eye to alcoholism,
cigarette smoking and abuse of legal drugs, etc.

The same goes for other organized religions, including Theravada in Sri
Lanka, where a Buddhist who pretended to be a monk assassinated the head of
state and subsequently converted to Catholicism, thus proving a link between
the See and radicalism in Sri Lankan politics. This is also evident in
Dali, East Timor since the rebellion there was supported by the Indonesian
Bishop.

All of this does not prove that a religious war is in progress.

Instead it shows that Mr. Gandhi was correct in assessing the role of
religion in politics when he declared that those who believe that religion
has nothing to do with politics, do not know religion at all.

Indeed, religion is where politics originated.

Thus it's all power politics in the name of Allah, God, Yahweh, or the other
997 names of God.

It's also a legacy of 6000 years of the decline of "civilization."

For it's all because of men subjugating women and using God to excuse such
misogyny, just because androcratic men in power fear the prospect of
equalitarian partnerships with women!

I suggest people look up "gylanic+androcratic" and see how many hits you
get, and research this matter thoroughly.

Better yet, search for "Riane Eisler" and read her books.

December 6th National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women

Every year since 1981, Canada promotes awareness of violence against women on November 25.

On December 6, the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women is observed across Canada, informally known as White Ribbon Day.

This is the anniversary of the 1989 École Polytechnique Massacre, in which fourteen women were singled out for their gender and murdered.

Here are more facts about the perpetrator of the L'ecole Polytechnique Massacre worth remembering:

1.Marc Lépine/Gamil Gharbi frequently saw his father beat his mother.

2. Lepine's mother was French-Canadian.

3. When Lepine/Gharbi entered the classroom, he fired two shots of his low powered small calibre rifle into the ceiling. He then ordered all the men in the room to leave, to which they meekly complied. The young women were then left alone in the classroom with Lepine. He shouted "You're all a bunch of fucking feminists!" and started shooting.

Just consider that last point a while: The men all walked away. They abandoned the women. This was an abdication of the most fundamental value of manhood, to protect the women & children. If, instead of walking out the door, the men had rushed Lapine, throwing books & desks at him, and tackled him to the ground, he would have had time to get off maybe one more shot. And we would be remembering many brave heroes instead of 14 dead women.

So mark December 6 on your calendar as a day of remembrance and action against violence against women.

That allows for Human Rights Day, to call for action for all victims of child abuse!

Update:

Years later, when the Dawson College shooter, Kimveer Gill, started his rampage, nobody stopped him on the street even though it was evident he had a gun on him.

The only difference between then and now is that the police were quicker to secure the building and wounded him, only to have him then commit suicide.

Though, in Kimveer's case, it appears to be too many late nights playing online games while suffering insomnia, combined with social isolation, among other things.

The Metaphor of Little Red Riding Hood

"From this story one learns that children, especially young lasses, pretty, courteous and well-bred, do very wrong to listen to strangers, And it is not an unheard thing if the Wolf is thereby provided with his dinner. I say Wolf, for all wolves are not of the same sort; there is one kind with an amenable disposition — neither noisy, nor hateful, nor angry, but tame, obliging and gentle, following the young maids in the streets, even into their homes. Alas! Who does not know that these gentle wolves are of all such creatures the most dangerous!" -- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Little_Red_Riding_Hood#Pre-Perrault

Nice men are depicted as the most dangerous of men by Little Red Riding Hood because they might be a threat to innocent young women's virtue.

Thus, women are anxious of such men because they wish to "keep a reputation" i.e. have sex after marriage.

Yet, another interpretation of nice men is presented here:

Red Riding Hood has also been seen as a parable of sexual maturity. In this interpretation, the red cloak symbolizes the blood of the menstrual cycle and the entry into puberty, braving the "dark forest" of womanhood. Or the cloak could symbolize the hymen (earlier versions of the tale generally do not state that the cloak is red--the word "red" in the title may refer to the girl's hair color or a nickname). In this case, the wolf threatens the girl's virginity. The anthropomorphic wolf symbolizes a man, who could be a lover, seducer or sexual predator. This differs from the ritual explanation in that the entry into adulthood is biologically, not socially, determined. -- ibid

How can a man truly be a wolf, unless he is only after one thing? Yet, what if he never truly wants it?

Then, he is a gentleman for not getting what he wants: consensual sex with a willing woman?

So, this tale says a lot about society itself by promoting anxiety and fear of nice guys in young women to protect their goodness.

Thus Little Red Riding Hood is a story about our anxiety over increasing infertility of post-modern society in developed countries.

Smash the Myth of "White Culture"

The myth of "white culture" is a recent invention.

Prior to the world wars of the 20th century, "good people" actually was code for "white, Anglo-Saxon Protestants" in America.

Today, "good people" is an anachronism that is related to the days when Judeo-Christian values were at their height circa 18th century Europe.

It was incorporated into post-Victorian society circa 1920s, during the era when peace appeared to be imminent.

Today, special interest groups have become our new "good people" with democracy almost guaranteeing that all good people are equal to each other, but not to "bad people".

Yet, moralism is a tool of the patriarchy. To deem one group of people good and another, bad, is not truly democratic because the good are only allowed to be equal at the expense of demonizing the bad.

In short, with respect to ethics our actions may be viewed as shades of grey, having magnitudes of good and bad in each of them.

Overcoming the Patriarchy: a Man's View

"There are many characteristics of traditional masculinity that are positive and beneficial: being strong, courageous, willing to work hard and willing to sacrifice oneself to protect family and society in times of danger. And many masculine characteristics appear to be protective factors that help men to be at reduced risk for developing anxiety and depressive disorders. Most men do not over-focus on feelings. They tend to be more action-oriented, have higher self-esteem and more self-confidence, and do not over-analyze things, thus avoiding the paralysis of analysis. As well, most men appear to be able to compartmentalize well, a skill necessary for keeping things in perspective." -- Aaron White, PhD: ed-op in Visions Vol. 2 Iss. 5 2005

In his editorial, White points out traits of masculinity which could be beneficial not only to men, but also to women. For these are traits of assertiveness.

To reduce the risk of anxiety and depression, a woman could learn not to over-focus on feelings. By being action-oriented, a woman can be pro-active and thus raise her self-esteem and self-confidence as a result. Finally, by not over-analyzing things, she can avoid the paralysis of analysis.

As well, the ability to compartmentalize feelings is a necessary skill which keeps things in perspective for both men and women.

Indeed, a woman can learn a lot from men, just as men have learned from women.
