Born a quiet boy who said very little, few really knew Seung-hui Cho at all. His father was about 38 and his mother, 28, when he was born. His sister Sun is two years older than him.
His mother wished he spoke more, and would give anything to hear him talk and misbehave, rather than him be quiet and obedient.
But rather than expose the family to censure by seeking help from doctors, she prayed that Seung-hui would talk more.
So moving to America seemed like the next best thing.
However, it didn't turn out like that, because Seung-hui never said much as a kid. And because he was never examined by a child psychiatrist we don't know if he was mildly autistic or a rare case of childhood schizophrenia.
It is said that schizophrenia is prevalent when one parent is older than 32 when a child is born. This is because it is a genetic disease. However, there may be an environmental cofactor in that when a parent is more than 25 years older than a child, difficulty in communication increases. This may be because of a combination of cognitive delay and evolution of language i.e. children tend to use code words (slang) and use language in innovative ways, widening the generation gap.
Even in high school he was quiet, and was bullied for speaking English with an accent and having a deep voice. This is when Seung-hui's madness first appeared.
To try to get Seung out of his shell, his parents enrolled him at Virginia Tech.
In his junior year, Mr. Cho told his then-roommates that he had a girlfriend. Her name was Jelly. She was a supermodel who lived in outer space and traveled by spaceship, and she existed only in the dimension of his imagination.
When Andy Koch, one of his roommates, returned to their suite one day, Mr. Cho shooed him away. He told him Jelly was there. He said she called him Spanky. SpankyJelly became his instant-message screen name.
Cho had a fantasy girl. Definitely, a sign of schizophrenia.
His junior-year roommates mostly ignored him because he was so withdrawn. If he said something, it was weird. During Thanksgiving break, Mr. Koch recalled, Mr. Cho called him to report that he was vacationing in North Carolina with Vladimir Putin, the Russian president; Mr. Cho said he had grown up with him in Moscow.
Ok, now he has Mr. Putin as a friend, and lived in Moscow. Definitely not living in the real world.
Sometimes Mr. Cho introduced himself as “Question Mark,” saying it was the persona of a man who lived on Mars and journeyed to Jupiter. On the sign-in sheet of a literature class, he simply scribbled a question mark instead of his name.
OK, then now that everyone knew of his fantasy world, and predicted he'd be a shooter, then it doesn't explain the complacency by concerned citizens.
And in the end, after seeing him talk on TV, a pastor stated that this is not the Seung-hui Cho he knew.

Sudden Change of a Killer
Roommates say Cho was lifting weights and got a very short haircut in the weeks just before the shootings. It now appears he may have been developing a new name as well. This metamorphasis, psychologists say, can be essential: the killer has to break utterly free of the real world, and his own, natural identity before he can act. By Tom Foreman, CNN Correspondent
On the early morning of April 16, 2007 Cho Seung-hui changed into A. Ismail. He left his dorm to shoot, possibly by accident, Ryan Clark, and immediately after, Emily Hilscher.
Then he returned to his room, wrote Ismail Ax on his arm, and signed A. Ismail on the package of his 8-page manifesto, photographs and videos he sent to NBC News in New York City.
Who is this A. Ismail who shot 30 more people and wounded 15 students?
Well, two hours before he began his rampage at Norris Hall at Virginia Tech, he might have been Cho Seung-Hui.
The previous year he was the mysterious Mr Question Mark. So since the fall of 2006 he was Mr Question Mark.
That means as of December 2005, he was no longer Cho Seung-hui but a mentally ill individual who was no longer the shy, retiring Seung.
Possibly as early as January 2007, he was Ismail Ax, and with each gun he bought, starting in February, that identity crystallized when he shot Ryan Clark and murdered Emily Hischler.
So as to the question about who Ismail Ax is, his original name was Cho Seung-hui who became Mr. Question Mark in 2006.
This means he knew not who he was in 2006. He wanted to be known as Question Mark.
Was it really Ibrihim, Ismail's Axe?
Is this the legacy of the War on Terrorism? Hell yeah!

Otherwise, you will be wondering why I mention things you never knew about. If you can't do your research about the Virginia Tech shooter, then you can skip this entry.
This is what has been revealed about Cho:
FWIW, the planning (including the sociology course Deviant Behavior) points to a lack of mental illness at the time he shot Emily Hilscher, Ryan Clark and 30 other students.
Rage, yes. Mental disorder, no.
And once again, nobody followed up on Cho. Everyone just thought he was a loonie and *ran away mentally screaming in abject fear*.
Meanwhile, speculations about autism and mental illness are denigrating both communities.
At the root of this, the Cho family's social isolation probably subtly contributed to Seung's spiral into madness.
His mother feared demonic possession. His dad worked too hard. And his sister tried to pretend this problem did not exist.
Thus, the family dynamics fueled the genesis of Cho as mass murderer.
Nothing was done to help Seung. Instead the whole family retreated into social isolation. IMHO, Mrs. Cho's search for a Koren evangelical exorcist indicates that that social isolation made have caused her to delve deeper into the Korean evangelical community.
Yet she was unable to inculcate any discipline in her son to overcome depression. Violent rage is a symptom of depression in men. Even the murder indicates by its planning (including chaining the doors to the floor he was on) that his depression had a psychotic component.
In short, he had a mental illness; however, because he was uncommunicative with the mental health authorities in December 2005, they assumed he was stable.
Thus, by his silence he probably mystified even the mental health professionals.
Yet, now that his secret was out, he became mentally unstable. Hence the arson. Quite probably, the promiscuity he claimed to have seen in one girl's eyes was reflected in all the girls he befriended after October 2005.
This fear of women reflects a lack of internalization of compassion -- a fear of the inner feminine to balance out his masculinity.
In a twisted way, Cho's victimization of women through stalking and even by shooting Emily Hilscher and other women afterwards would suggest a rejection of the mind's urge to overcome the Oedipal complex.
Even so, by killing himself, Cho made up for taking 32 lives, for that was the honorable thing to do.
Yes, suicide does make up for murder. This is why such a thing begins with murder, and ends with suicide.

Things I've Learned from Seung Cho
- Bulletproof vest and cap backwards is not a good fashion style, especially with a Walther P22 in one hand and a Glock 19 in the other.

Hikikomori: Social Anxiety Due to PTSD Arising From Pressure to Succeed in an Emotionally Reserved Setting (which may explain Cho Seung-Hui's life)
For much of my twenties and thirties, I may have suffered a form of hikikomori, a uniquely Japanese form of sociopathy with a risk for violence due to social isolation.
Here's a full description of the disorder, and roots to its origins. The concept of hone (inner voice) and tatamae (outer voice) may be unique to the Japanese, but the terms I use for each of them relates to the inner voice that when inappropriately expressed may lead to social isolation and the outer voice that is appropriately expressed which leads to social integration into the group.
Thus, one only expresses the inner voice to become individualistic, while the outer voice leads one to become at one with the group, be it one's friends or society at large.
April 19, 2007: Perhaps this explains Cho Seung-Hui's early life until age 16, the year before 9/11.
The following is a quote from Mark Zielenziger's first chapter of his book, SHUTTING OUT THE SUN, which may explain Cho's first 17 years of his life (until 9/11 shocked him and the rest of us out of our sense of isolation from the horrors of terrorism).
Bluntly put, Cho's murder-suicide is another of a long blood trail of domestic terrorism, but then again so is any form of violence when it brings a chill of terror to even one heart.
A SYNDROME KNOWN AS HIKIKOMORI, IN which the outside world is shunned, is wreaking havoc on young people in Japan, a country known for its communal values. And an older generation--the very bastion of those old-fashioned values--may be to blame, according to a controversial new theory.
Hikikomori (the term refers to the behavior itself and to those who suffer from it) was first recognized in the early 1990s. One million Japanese, or almost 1 percent of the population, are estimated to suffer from hikikomori, defined as a withdrawal from friends and family for months or even years. Some 40 percent of hikikomori are below the age of 21, according to a 2001 government report.
Western psychologists compare hikikomori with social anxiety and agoraphobia, a fear of open places. The affliction has also been likened to Asperger's syndrome, a mild variant of autism. But these theories carry little weight in Japan, where the disorder is considered culturally unique and is linked to violence.
Yuichi Hattori, M.A., a psychologist currently treating 18 patients with the disorder, believes that hikikomori is caused by emotionally neglectful parenting. Hattori argues that none of his patients had been sexually or physically abused, yet they all show signs of posttraumatic stress disorder.

As the cultural gap between Japan's youth and elders widens, some young Japanese may view their parents as too stony-faced and reserved. Hattori speaks of Japanese society's deep-rooted division between hone and tatemae--one's true feelings and one's actions--to illustrate the frustration his patients express toward aloof parents.
"Patients tell me their mothers have no emotions," says Hattori. "Six patients have called their parents zombies."
Hattori's findings, presented in November to the International Society for the Study of Dissociation, are reminiscent of the now-discredited theory of the "refrigerator mother," which attributed autism to a detached style of parenting.
"Hikikomori looks more to me like an extreme case of social anxiety," says David Kupfer, Ph.D., a psychologist with a private practice in Virginia. Emotionally unresponsive parents are only one of the factors involved in the development of this disorder, says Kupfer, who points out that "in Japan, the pressure to succeed is a unique cultural source of trauma."
For now, Eastern and Western psychologists agree only that hikikomori is unique to Japan and has serious ramifications for both generations.

Regarding the Cho Seung-Hui murder-suicide, Virginia Tech bears some responsibility in it happening.
IMHO Cho killed 32 people because he had lost face by December 2005 due to two incidents of harrassment reported to VTech but not aggressively pursued.
His QuestionMark persona of 2006 demonstrates this loss of face.
It signalled that Cho was spiralling out of control.
Yet the President of Virginia Tech was slow to act. He now denies Cho's action was in any way influenced by what Virginia Tech may not have done.
We cannot blame the two women not to pursue charges against Cho, for they feared being stalked further by him.
Thus, this tragedy emphasizes that individual psychopaths are the cause of the tragedy at any college murder-suicide, not the inaction of presumably good people.
And this in itself is as evil as shooting 32 people dead.
What could have worked in this case was to graduate the guy, give him a degree in English, and bid him farewell.
Instead, the President ignored the obvious fact that Cho was rapidly deteriorating, and left counselling up to a man who walked out of a psychward back in early 2006, a man who went on to call himself QuestionMark.
Thus Virginia Tech is partially culpable for the deaths of all 33 students through its inaction.
Just agreeing to a student policy isn't enough. Written contracts with the offending student, and constant monitoring, is advised.
This makes me wonder about all his roommates. Why weren't his roomies this term more vigilante?

Media Fabrication of War Not New
In 1898, Joseph Pulitzer's New York World and William Randolph Hearst's New York Journal were arguing for American intervention in Cuba. Hearst is reported to have dispatched a photographer to Cuba to photograph the coming war with Spain. When the photographer asked just what war that might be, Hearst is reported to have replied, "You take the photographs, and I will provide the war". Hearst was true to his word, as his newspaper published stories of great atrocities being committed against the Cuban people, most of which turned out to be complete fabrications.
On the night of February 15, 1898, the USS Maine, lying in Havana harbor in a show of US resolve to protect her interests, exploded violently. Captain Sigsbee, the commander of the Maine, urged that no assumptions of enemy attack be made until there was a full investigation of the cause of the explosion. For this, Captain Sigsbee was excoriated in the press for "refusing to see the obvious". The Atlantic Monthly declared flat out that to suppose the explosion to be anything other than a deliberate act by Spain was "completely at defiance of the laws of probability".

2001-2002: America and the UK collaborate to "prove" that weapons of mass destruction were being produced by Iraq, including fabricated reports, denials by investigators, a possible assassination of an investigator in the UK, and media hype.
By 2003, the Americans and British people were almost unanimous in their support of an invasion of Iraq. Anyone who tried to point out the economic reason of the war (oil) were dismissed as conspiracy crackpots.
In fact, the media had much to do with propagandizing for war in both Afghanistan and Iraq, much as they had done during the breakup of Yugoslavia in the 1990s.
Even the Kosovo War was heavily propagandized, with Roma Gypsies being decimated by both the Kosovo militants, who were supported by young Albanian males from America, and the Serbians, who were supported by Communists, drug dealers and thugs.
Today, even recent mass murders are propagandized. The Cho Seung-hui case is a prime example. Very few people are picking up on the slogan "Ismail Ax" in red ink on Cho's arm.
Instead, they are playing up on the "weird and creepy loner" angle.
Another example is the recent Newtown shootings. It's my contention that Adam Lanza had behavior similar to "hikikomori" especially social isolation.
In light of revelations made about him, Lanza's actions remind me more of an angry child, in a fit of jealous rage, than a killer who coldly calculated the deaths of innocent children.
Even despite carrying two handguns and a semi-automatic rifle, he shot himself before using all his ammunition precisely because of same reasons Marc Lepine, Eric Harris, Dylan Klebold, Kimveer Gill, and Seung-hui Cho did so: to prevent the hell of a murder trial.
Just as the mass media fabricates the weird and creepy loner to explain these mass school killings, so too did it fabricate weapons of mass destruction (WMD) before invading Iraq.

Seung Cho and Korean Exorcism: Shamanism and Its Influence on Korean Christianity
Romantic satanism, being influenced by the Catholic Church and especially by Hollywood, is nothing more than Hollywood theatrics. Movies like Rosemary's Baby and The Exorcist are loosely based on fact yet full of inaccuracies and confabulations. The boy involved in the story that the Exorcist is based on went on to kill another person, but the judge refused to allow any evidence related to his previous exorcism. As well, the Catholic Church successfully suppressed the boy's story. Even so, romantic satanism is a myth.
Likewise, demon possession is an extremely rare thing.
In the case of Seung Cho, he never was possessed by a demon. He was probably majorly depressed with a touch of psychosis, and the only demon that possessed him is human nature.
Yet his mom was convinced he was possessed and was seeking a Protestant exorcist to "cure" them. It should be pointed out that exorcists are shamans, and they exist in Christianity only in the form of Catholic priests. That a Protestent evangelical layman was known as exorcist is only possible in the Korean Christian community, since shamanism was popular in Korea before the modern era.
However, let me point out that "demons" do not exist. What actually exists is the belief that supernatural beings exist. Once that is done, the possessed's loved ones can give feedback to the possessed that s/he is "cured."

Before I comment on this song, I wish to make the following disclaimer: I do not endorse suicide and thus am not responsible for any life-threatening choices made by anyone who reads this post.
According to Dave Mustaine, this song is actually Megadeath's contribution to people healing from the death of a loved one.
Even so, MTV still banned this song lest a suicidal person aspire to be set free.
IMHO Megadeath officially does not have respect for such suicides mainly because of the myths that suicidal people are cowards.
I have no doubt that such disrespect for suicide might inspire those people contemplating it to get pissed off and tragically end their lives.
Thus, suicide is the end result of rage at the hopelessness of their existence, which has been painted darkly both in the media and by misinformed people, including a few survivors.
Since I am of the opinion that the depression that precedes suicide is suppressed rage, suicide prevention requires informing and showing the depressed of the many alternatives which provide a fulfilling platform where they are heard, listened to, and consequently discreetly asked to rethink their final solution.
Indeed, suicide is one option which should only be taken IF AND ONLY IF it would promote a sympathetic pro-active movement to remedy the pain and thus prevent the possibility of copycats (humane euthanization).
My reaction to suicide is this: the fanciful wish that the ghosts of suicide victims haunt whoever the victim may claim is responsible for their demise.
If it is proven that the victim only has herself to blame, then the people responsible for saying so are irresponsible since each and every lack of sympathy by bystanders may have precipitated the crisis leading to suicide.
Such carelessness shown by a person's peers might result in a preventable tragedy.
However, the questions I will pose to potential suicide victims are: how can you throw your life away so easily? Why can't you save your life, which is so precious and beautiful? Can you see that whatever method you choose to end it all might not dignify your death?
FWIW, I feel that death by fentanyl which cancer victims choose is more dignified than a gun, jumping off a bridge or building, slit wrists, and hanging. This is because self-inflicted violence often is morally reprehensible to me i.e. each method desecrates the body and may cause unnecessary suffering.
However, death by drugs are also a desecration if the victim suffers. IMHO this is why death by a combination of opioids and another drug that amplifies the opioid's effect on breathing is cleaner than other methods. As well, government regulations make it difficult to obtain such drugs.
Returning to this song, Dave Mustaine appeared to disrespect Kimveer Gill in his response to the speculation by armchair journalists that the song inspired his mass school killing of one innocent victim and the wounding of 19 bystanders.
Yet I do not feel that Mustaine was disrespecting Gill as he was actually telling off the speculators.
By writing this article, my intent to show that the suicidal have suppressed their rage against the world so much that death is preferable to living in a world that consistently oppresses men for being gentle and good people like Kimveer Gill used to be before the three weeks of hell that he chose to live prior to his tragic end.
Ultimately, a suicide victim is often the victim of his short-sighted choices. Thus, suicide is the end result of self-victimization, made in isolation from the society that he chooses to condemn through his violent act of death by suicide.
Finally, let me against state clearly that I do not endorse suicide and thus am not responsible for any life-threatening choices made by anyone who reads this post.

In 1992, my parents and I emigrated to America. We spent our first year in Detroit. It was hell.
In 2003, I graduated from high school. I graduated from an honors school in Chantilly, VA.
Always I felt lonely, and screamed at by my father for being quiet
Between January 2007 and the first week of April 2007, I was infatuated with Emily. When she first rejected me back in March, I went and bought my first gun, a Glock 19.
Five weeks later, I bought a Walther P22, and a shitload of ammo.
This was just after Emily told me she no longer wanted to be my friend.
A few weeks ago, I was caught by the cops speeding on campus. They were going to tell my parents.
Between 5 am and 7:30 am, April 16, I contemplated a confrontation with Emily and strode into her dorm room around 6:45 AM. By 7:15AM she and Ryan were shot dead.
From 7:30 to 9:00 am, back in my dorm room, I wrote eight pages of my manifesto in which I spoke of debauchery, deceitful charlatans, religion, women and rich kids.
Then I sent a lot of videos and pictures to NBC News. I remember saying at one point,
"You had everything you wanted. Your Mercedes wasn't enough, you brats. Your golden necklaces weren't enough, you snobs. Your trust fund wasn't enough. Your vodka and cognac weren't enough. All your debaucheries weren't enough. Those weren't enough to fulfill your hedonistic needs. You had everything!"
Maybe I wrote in red ink, "Ismail Ax", on my arm. I don't remember; the memories are fading.
Sometime after 8:30 am, I rode into Blackburg to drop off my package to NBC News.
Between 9:01 and 9:25 am I drove from Blackburg to Norris Hall. It took me about 14 minutes to kill 30 more people and wound 15. Finally, as I heard the approach of the police, peace came to me as I shot myself in the head with the last bullet of my Glock. It musta been 9:50 am.

So what the hell am I doing in Heaven? Shouldn't I be in some kinda purgatory?
Earlier I hear a voice say to me, "Seung-hui Cho, come forward. Your pain is no more." Then memories of my previous existence flashed before me.
Any hope of closeness with my father disappeared when I was 7. "We will be ok in America," said my mother to me.
In Detroit, I vaguely remember being afraid of black men. But I don't know why I killed Ryan.
Once, a pretty American girl teased me when I was 13. Was that why I killed Emily?
How should I know?
In life, we suffer from birth to death. This is a fact of life. Yet, to avoid this truth, we practise debauchery while deceitful charlatans tried to tempt us, as though religion will save us from our own suffering.
Is it like the Muslims say that women bear the gateway to evil? Or, is it just ignorance?
And these rich kids? Why do they torment anyone who is different from them? Why are their riches not used to educate them to respect others who they deem lesser than they are?
I don't know. I don't care.
All I see around me is a bright light, and my memories of my past life are slowly fading...
Is the truth really that each person is loaned a soul at birth, only to be redeemed on death? If so, then am I returning to the Light?
As they too return to the Light, around me are 32 similar souls forgiving me. "Together we return to the Light, for we are as one."
"Jesus died for the sins of man, so that all people, especially sinners, are reborn in heaven."
"If a good man may be born into the Pure Land, then, should he repent from his old ways, so too may an evil man."
So, in murdering 32 innocent souls, is suicide truly repentance?

Unknown at this time is motive for shooting and how the gunman died.
Campus authorities waited two hours before issuing a warning to students, just as an engineering building was targeted by the lone gunman.
Originally, the gunman had opened fired on the fourth floor of a dormitory about 1/2 mile from his final standoff.
In addition, 26 people were wounded.

So let's call this shooting what sometimes happens when hikikomori happens on American soil.

Vtech was preventable, for Seung-hui Cho was actually a budding horror writer.
Had he been begged to work on his writing by his English teacher, a lot of innocent lives could have been saved.

The Sociopathy of Post-Modern Society (satire)
Given that 2% of the population is sociopathic why is it then that most parents consistently lie about drugs ("drugs are bad") while doing drugs ("drinking and smoking") but consider themselves responsible adults?
Could sociopathy be inculcated by the family unit and thus be a cultural artifact rather than a mental illness?
If sociopathy is a cultural artifact, then might not sociopathy be a part of a lifestyle?
And if sociopathy is a part of a lifestyle, might not the lies and the tendency to become a serial killer be a consequence of not giving a shit about others (anti-social tendencies) and the inculcation of a narcissistic personality?
If so, then the way public education is now taught surely is ensuring that sociopathy cannot be eradicated due to it being a cultural phenomenon rather than a mental illness.
For sociopathy could be an abreaction to society, specifically the family.
Indeed, the only way to control sociopathy is to be honest about the fact that we tell ourselves white lies daily in order to survive in a society that expects a lot out of each individual but lacks an efficient way of compensating for the negative effects such as stress.
Am I suggesting sociopathy is learned? Yes, sociopathy is adaptative but is harder to "unlearn" than an addiction. However, I deny it is a mental illness because most sociopaths are not mentally ill.
It could even be argued that post-modern society itself contains elements in it which lead 2% of the population to opt out of the majority and become sociopathic e.g. we have no means in hospitals to ensure that children who are seriously ill do not give up hope and become sociopaths as a result of social isolation from their family unit.
A good example of this is Seung-hui Cho, whose childhood illness contributed greatly to his psychopathy which resulted in one of the largest kill-ratio in the history of mass shootings.
What kind of society is it that can create innovative technology yet lacks the manpower to counsel children so that they don't become serial killers? Even if less than 2% of people become sociopaths, why is it that we put stress on our children so that they end up like Columbine and the Santa Barbara mass shooter?
I mention stress, because it is usually the reason for a harmless schizotypy morphing into a schizophrenia. Even though meditation is touted as a vital part of stress relief, very few people in the West can sit still for it to bring stress relief. Instead, harmful sedatives are prescribed, due to the nature of sedatives as an easy solution to stressful situations.
Sociopaths are not going to "get" meditation for it to make a difference in their lives unless they are in a controlled setting to practice it, and even then, the tendency on their part is to not only lie to others that it works for them but to lie to themselves about it working. Most likely, they might be the reason why most people in the West don't meditate because "it doesn't work", which is an opinion and not a fact but an opinion which leads to the instant fix of a sedative.
Thus the idea that a pill will cure a mental illness is also a big lie, and the result of sociopathy when a lot of people believe in it, rather than in meditation.
However, I am presenting meditation as a cure-all because if sociopathic people practice it, either they'll go on to become cult leaders or become better people.
Everyone else will just improve their lives.
Could sociopathy be inculcated by the family unit and thus be a cultural artifact rather than a mental illness?
If sociopathy is a cultural artifact, then might not sociopathy be a part of a lifestyle?
And if sociopathy is a part of a lifestyle, might not the lies and the tendency to become a serial killer be a consequence of not giving a shit about others (anti-social tendencies) and the inculcation of a narcissistic personality?
If so, then the way public education is now taught surely is ensuring that sociopathy cannot be eradicated due to it being a cultural phenomenon rather than a mental illness.
For sociopathy could be an abreaction to society, specifically the family.
Indeed, the only way to control sociopathy is to be honest about the fact that we tell ourselves white lies daily in order to survive in a society that expects a lot out of each individual but lacks an efficient way of compensating for the negative effects such as stress.
Am I suggesting sociopathy is learned? Yes, sociopathy is adaptative but is harder to "unlearn" than an addiction. However, I deny it is a mental illness because most sociopaths are not mentally ill.
It could even be argued that post-modern society itself contains elements in it which lead 2% of the population to opt out of the majority and become sociopathic e.g. we have no means in hospitals to ensure that children who are seriously ill do not give up hope and become sociopaths as a result of social isolation from their family unit.
A good example of this is Seung-hui Cho, whose childhood illness contributed greatly to his psychopathy which resulted in one of the largest kill-ratio in the history of mass shootings.
What kind of society is it that can create innovative technology yet lacks the manpower to counsel children so that they don't become serial killers? Hananim Died for The Sins of Koreans
Apologies for the titles to any Christian who is offended. Those of you who do not forgive me and I — we both burn in our respective hells of indignation. >:)
Even though I'm Buddhist, I like reading the Rick Ross website, where various Christian authors deconstruct possibly cultic forms of Christianity.
The reason for my interest in Korean Pentecostal Christianity is a quote from a Korean Pentecostal minister who knew Seung-hui Cho (V Tech school shooter) personally.
A second reason is I was handed religious material from a Korean Pentecostal church in my local area, and need background material on it.
My final reason is that a previous girlfriend was from the Canadian Pentecostal movement. In contrast, Buddhism is more of the "sit down and listen" kind of Methodism without the hubris of a God apart from man. More on this point about Buddhism later.
As a Buddhist, I am sometimes moved to check out Christianity from time to time.
My previous encounter with Baptists led to my comment about satan being alive and well among some Christians, especially when they scapegoat an innocent victim either through child abuse or worse, ritual abuse of members (cult worship).
Even though certain Christians may deny it, there is a healthy syncretism done when pre-Christian ideology and rituals are absorbed into Pentecostal practice without use of coercion.
While Jesus may have razed the temple due to money makers profiting from worshippers too busy to meet with the Jewish priests, his violence was contradicted by him rebuking Peter for cutting off a Roman guard's ear when the priests came to take him for his interrogation.
I make this point to show that Jesus tempered his violence against the ritual of proxy worship with his non-violent response to being led away as scapegoat to reduce State oppression by the Roman Empire due to the State's concern and fear of domestic terrorists (the Jewish rebels).
Thus, the very few words of Jesus before the Acts and his actions in the Acts in the Bible is the essence of Pentecostalism. This is why I am interested in it at this time.
Regarding Buddhism, mMost of the Christian fallacies about the Buddha boil down to confusion between what "the divine" means to a Christian and what "sentient" means to a Buddhist. The knowledgeable Buddhist knows what sentience means to him.
By transcending sentience, the Buddha actually transcended divinity itself. Christians get confused by this, because they confuse the Buddha with a god.
Within Buddhist cosmology, even a god is a sentient being i.e. has the potential to become Buddha, but is subject to a finite existent despite living for an almost infinite length of existence. I point this out now because it might come up in future social intercourse with the local Korean Pentecostal church.

Why Wade Michael Page Shot Up Sikh Temple
Since 9-11, misdirect biased attacks having been occurring against Sikhs, mainly by people who fail to understand that Sikhs are not Muslims.
Regarding mass media reports, the article in the NY Post did not fully remind Americans that not everyone wearing a turban is Muslim while the NY Times went into detail to show that Sikhs are not Muslims. NBC's report reflects breaking news before forensics experts analyze the crime scene.
According to mass media reports, in this late summer attack in Milwaukee, this misdirected bias attack developed a myth based on the NY Post article: a man dumped by his lover due to his penchant for violence, who in a fit of what was originally misogynist rage, decides to sacrifice the innocent lives of Sikhs, just because they wear turbans. In essence, he went psychotic and made the irrational decision to to channel all his hate against his ex-girlfriend and possibly his mother for not loving him enough to accept him as he is, warts and all, misdirecting it to what are innocent bystanders.
However, this may be a myth.
A closer look at his profile in the Wikipedia article on the Milwaukee shootings give a full background of a man who in his youth worked for the US Army as a missile systems repairman, and when that weapon was rendered obsolete, became a psychological warfare (PSYOPS) specialist until his self-medication with alcohol led to involuntary discharge in 1998. He then returned to Colorado, living in Littleton from 2000-2007. Overall this profile indicates that he comes from a broken home with his step-mother divorcing his father in 2000, leading to estrangement.
His later involvement in white supremacy tends to indicates replacement of parental guidance with a group known for its membership of marginalized white males where group cohesion is maintained by replacing State propaganda with a radical right ideology where empowerment is achieved through catharsis achieved through shame of being a white male and the resulting empowerment consisting of the white supremist ideology without a clearly articulated plan to achieve such supremacy. Without any rules about how to achieve said supremacy, various members of such groups exhibit impulsive acts of violence on their own initiative, often while under the influence of alcohol.
Perhaps hate filters out everything but the turban, despite the fact that most Muslims do not wear turbans anymore. Indeed, none of the 9-11 terrorists wore turbans, thus invalidating any racist's irrational logic that "all men who wear turbans are Muslim."
This logical fallacy is the result of hate propaganda which, by its nature appeals to emotions and thus is false.
Sikhs in turbans daily disprove they are militant by spending most of their time in their temples in prayer and feeding their hungry members.
However, this shooting shows that once again, like the Columbine mass school killing, the Ecole Polytech massacre, the Dawson College shooting, the VTech shooting and even the Newtown Shooting demonstrate that each one of them is a misdirected bias killing in which a target is chosen to direct rage originally experienced with each of the killer's original target of rage (be it father, mother or girlfriend).
Since it is not safe to kill your parents or someone you love, in such a killer's mind, killing a mass of people you hate is preferable to doing something positive to get over the fact that the people you love hurt you, like forgiving them and moving on.
This might also explain violence in general, too.
I propose a simple way to reduce such carnage in the future: institute in public and private schools emotional support for children of divorce and a harm control plan for alcohol and recreational drugs. As well, the culture of silence among today's youth requires the support of whistle-blowers.

Why the Santa Barbara Killer Is Not Misogynist (satire)
Recently, a son of a famous film director went on the rampage in Santa Barbara and killed six people, consisting of three men stabbed to death, and a man and two women shot to death. Additionally he shot but only wounded about a dozen people, mostly women.
Once the feminists got wind of this, they called "misogynist serial killer" which is a stretch. I would prefer to call it another narcissistic personality suffering from affluenza who displaces his anger against women in a disgusting way.
Look, I am sorry for all those people who were murdered by him, but the body count is four men and two women, and the women were only killed because they walked in front of the sorority house where he aimed to kill a lot of women, according to his rant on Youtube.
So he's a misogynist for wishing death on women, but the body count indicates that he was successful in carrying out a misanthropic mass killing.
Yet his aim was so poor that he only wounded several more innocent bystanders who just happened to be in his line of fire. After a brief shootout with police, he shoots himself in the head, bringing the total body count to seven (five men and two women).
I don't think this is misogynist at all, despite the many women wounded. This is just some poor little rich guy with a narcissistic personality whose affluenza ended in bloodshed because of his ineptness at communicating with women.
I agree with the father of one victim: America needs tougher gun control laws. Indeed, this is a wake up call to America. A big database of firearms is necessary to prevent theft and illegal sales of firearms. It works in Canada.
After the recent flooding in southern Alberta a couple years ago, the RCMP were able to target homes with firearms and remove them for the safety of that community.
Could you imagine if that were possible in America today? We know gun control works, because Australia is proof of that. Despite the Monach University shooting, things were swiftly brought under control when the crazed gumman was taken down by brave survivors of his wild shooting. Few people died in that tragedy because of their brave actions.
In response, the gun control laws were toughened. If a new crazed killer were to try the same stunt, there are safeguards in place in Australia to prevent another tragedy.
Even so, because of a few NRA patriots in America, a tough gun control law will never be enacted due to "the right to bear arms." However this sacosanct right to bear arms requires a militia who obeys the laws and does not act to overthrow the government.
I cannot see the NRA forming such a militia. In fact, the survivalist faction of gun owners is not a militia. Rather, they are just hoping to survive an apocalypse of their imagination and tough it out.
Sadly though, the Sandy Hook massacre shows us the folly of that move. That tragedy might have been due to the perpetrator hating his mother enough to shoot her as she slept in bed, and going on a rampage at an elementary, mainly because children are somehow easier to murder in cold blood than the police.
In fact, the shooter shot himself in the head before the cops got to him. By the time they rushed in to save the day, a lot of children were dead, and so too the killer himself.
Returning to the Santa Barbar shooting, the warning signs were not heeded by police because the shooter was able to lie to police. He was even able to gloat about evading their surveillance by appearing as meek as a lamb.
I cannot fault the Santa Barbara police in this case. Even though they are easily duped by a sociopathic killer, they only acted in the best interest of society. It would be unfair of society scapegoat the police in this case. Perhaps they were poorly trained in this case. However that is open to speculation.
What cannot be speculated is that two women and four men lost their lives, three to a knife and three to a gun.
If this killer was truly misogynist, then he would have establish a death count by shooting people he wounded but he didn't. In my opinion, this is because he wasn't interested in killing people dead after six had died.
Had he actually been dedicated in ending people's lives, there would have been a bigger body count. However, it is hard to shoot effectively from a moving car with one hand on the wheel while wielding a handgun. The V-Tech massacre is proof of this.
In the case of the V-Tech shootings, Seung-ho Cho went back to shoot wounded students. The same thing happened in the Sandy Point massacre.
Because the Santa Barbara shooter did not ensure a higher body count, I can only assume that he actually didn't want to establish a high body count. Perhaps this is because after killing six people, he had had his fill of killing. Everything after that was merely him barely going through the motions.
Again, I must reiterate that I am sorry that the six people were killed, and many more people are suffering in the aftermath of this horrible tragedy.
In spite of this I know the US government will not toughen gun laws, because California has tough enough laws to restrict the sale of firearms as it is. Toughening gun laws will not prevent future tragedies of this type.
If America truly wants to prevent such mass shootings from occurring, then it will have to reform its public education system, which has made many a student feel special, so special that even thwarting the aim of a virgin to get laid has left to six people dead.
We need to stop making kids feel as though society owes them something just for existing. We also need to teach children the value of humility in a world which is currently labeling that as harmful to children's self esteem.
For as long as we continue with the practice of inculcating narcissism in children, only children with potential narcissistic personalities will grow up with the potential to become mass murderers, just for not getting what they want.
As long as we continue on the current path from kintergarden to high school, there shall be future mass shootings in America. Gun control will not prevent future tragedies from happening as long as the right to bear arms is held sacrosanct in American society.

If America truly wants to prevent such mass shootings from occurring, then it will have to reform its public education system, which has made many a student feel special, so special that even thwarting the aim of a virgin to get laid has left to six people dead.
We need to stop making kids feel as though society owes them something just for existing. We also need to teach children the value of humility in a world which is currently labeling that as harmful to children's self esteem.
For as long as we continue with the practice of inculcating narcissism in children, only children with potential narcissistic personalities will grow up with the potential to become mass murderers, just for not getting what they want.
As long as we continue on the current path from kintergarden to high school, there shall be future mass shootings in America. Gun control will not prevent future tragedies from happening as long as the right to bear arms is held sacrosanct in American society.
This is why I believe the Santa Barbara killer is not a misogynist. All he is is what is wrong in American public schools today.
