The Ching of Eeyore (with apologies to AA Milne)

(Quotes from the Rosenthal translation of Tao Teh Ching and the Chris Fugate version of Hua Hu Ching)
1. Already There
(In which Eeyore is visiting Winnie the Pooh at his home, discussing the merits of being sad as Pooh finishes his first jar of hunny for the evening.)
"I'd much rather be sad," said Eeyore, "than be happy."
"Why is that?" asked Pooh, examining his pot of hunny.
"At least," sighed Eeyore, "then no one can make you sad when you're already there."
"You have a point there," said Pooh after giving up on getting more hunny out of the pot. "But I have a problem."
"What's that?" asked Eeyore.
"I think there's no more hunny in this pot of mine."
"Are you sad because of that?" asked Eeyore.
"Well, yes," said Pooh, "but..."
"But were you happy when there was hunny in the pot?" asked Eeyore.
"Yes, I guess I was," replied Pooh.
"Are you sadder now that there is no more hunny?"
"Yes, but not really sad."
"But if you were sad when you had more hunny, you wouldn't be sadder now. You'd be just as sad before as you would be after."
"I don't know, Eeyore. I enjoyed the hunny dearly." Pooh frowned, and looked into the hunny pot just in case he missed a little bit of hunny that may have hidden itself out of sight.
"Do you miss not having more hunny?"
"Yes, indeed I do."
"Well then, that's why I'd much rather be sad."
"But Eeyore!" exclaimed Pooh. "You don't like hunny at all."
"It's a good thing too!" declared Eeyore. "I'd be very, very sad if I couldn't have more hunny."
"Cheer up, Eeyore!" said Pooh, throwing away the empty jar. "I'll get another jar of hunny and share it with you."
"Don't bother," said Eeyore, "I don't like hunny anyway."
"Oh," said Pooh in a tiny voice. "Then what do you like?"
"Being sad," said Eeyore.
"Well, you're already there, then," said Pooh, and giggled.
"Yes, I am," admitted Eeyore, who pushed a new jar of hunny toward Pooh Bear.
"Thank you, Eeyore. Would you care to share some with me?"
"No, thank you. Please go right ahead."
"Don't mind if I do." Pooh ate the hunny and smiled.
"Eeyore, you are a nice friend even if you are always sad."
"Thank you, Pooh. You're nice too."
Eeyore grew thoughtful. Then he said to Pooh, "I thought of a poem, Pooh."
"Well, let's hear your poem."
Eeyore cleared his throat and recited:
        When it's daytime, I'm sad.

When it's night time I'm sad.

But nothing that happens makes me sad.

I'm too busy being sad to be affected.

"That was a nice poem, Eeyore," said Pooh, who clapped his hands. Then he wished he didn't, because now both his paws were sticky with hunny. Rather than letting all that hunny go to waste, he started licking his paws.
"Thank you, Pooh. Do you have a poem for me?"
"Me?" asked Pooh. "I haven't much of a brain to tell a good pome. After all, Christopher Robin knocked all the stuffing out of my head climbing up those steps to bed."
"That's ok," said Eeyore. "I don't mind being disappointed." Then he gave Pooh a baleful look.
Now Pooh felt very bad for disappointing his friend. So he thought...

and he thought...

and he thought some more.

"Well," he said finally, "I might have a pome for you somewhere."
Eeyore frowned, and said, "It's about time. Please tell me your poem, Pooh."
"Ok," said Pooh, "It goes something like this, I think."
I am happy eating hunny

and very sad when there is none.

Never let hunny go to waste.

"That's good advice," said Eeyore. "I think I like your poem."
"Does it make you happy to like my poem?" asked Pooh.
Eeyore thought about that question.
"No" came the answer finally.
"Does it make you sad to hear my poem?" asked Pooh.
"No," said Eeyore quietly, "because I'm already there!"
"Quite right," said Pooh, deeply affected by Eeyore's answers. "Oh bother! Now you've gone and done it!"
"Done what?" asked Eeyore.
"You've made me sad!" exclaimed Pooh.
"Well," retorted Eeyore, "if you were sad already, I wouldn't have made you sad."
Pooh thought that one over for a long, long time.
"I think you're right, Eeyore!" he said.
"Good!" said Eeyore. "I'm glad you're seeing things my way."
Then Pooh laughed. Eeyore looked at him sideways.
"Why are you laughing?" he asked.
Pooh stopped laughing.
"Are you truly glad, Eeyore?" he asked?
"That's not fair," declared Eeyore. "I asked you a question first!"
"It's a part of my answer to your question," said Pooh.
"Oh," said Eeyore, who then thought for a bit about Pooh's question.
"Well?" said Pooh finally.
"I suppose I am glad that you agree with me."
"Can you be both glad I agree with you, and always sad?"
Eeyore thought this one over very carefully.
"Since I am already sad, being glad about something won't affect my sadness nor would being pleased about something quite different."
"Do you feel a bit happy when you are glad about something, Eeyore?"
"Perhaps."
"Then, you can't *always* be sad, could you?"
Eeyore thought about that one for a very long time.
Pooh grew tired waiting for Eeyore to answer. So he put away his pot of hunny. Then he went to the washroom to wash up. Then he put on his nightclothes and got ready for bed.
"You may stay the night, Eeyore," he said to his dear old friend. "But please
don't wake me to tell me your answer."
Rather than answering, Eeyore just nodded his head.
And Winnie the Pooh went to bed.
Early the next morning, Eeyore was still there thinking by the door.
"Hulloa, Eeyore!"
"Please, Pooh!" exclaimed Eeyore. "I'm still thinking."
"Well, please do hurry up!" insisted Pooh. "Today Christopher Robin is coming
to visit."
So Eeyore thought faster...

and faster...

and faster.

Then he said, "I suppose sometimes I don't feel sad at all."
"That's the spirit!" declared Pooh.
"But since I'm already there, nothing makes me sad."
"Oh bother!" exclaimed Pooh, and swatted Eeeyore on his behind as they headed out the door.

Do you wish to free yourself of mental and emotional knots and become one with the Tao? If so, there are two paths available to you.
The first is the path of acceptance. Affirm everyone and everything. Freely extend your goodwill and virtue in every direction, regardless of circumstances. Embrace all things as part of the Harmonious Oneness, and then you will begin to perceive it.
The second path is that of denial. Recognize that everything you see and think is a falsehood, an illusion, a veil over the truth. Peel all the veils away, and you will arrive at the Oneness.
Though these paths are entirely different, they will deliver you to the same place: spontaneous awareness of the Great Oneness. Once you arrive there, remember: it isn't necessary to struggle to maintain unity with it.
All you have to do is participate in it.

2. The Ching of Eeyore: The Missing Tail Points the Way
Eeyore depicts the dark side of life, the raincloud that always rains on everyone's parade. Yet he is a practical fellow. To deal with disappointments in his life, he hasn't just chosen to be sad; he's already there. Thus is it impossible for great disappointments to upset him and leave him in despair. Winnie the Pooh, on the other hand, deals with life's up and downs as best he can but is sad when disappointed and happy when something pleases him. In essence, he flows with the Tao. Eeyore does not.
Yet together, both Eeyore and Pooh Bear represent the eternal dance of Yin and Yang, their interplay complementing each other. Without Eeyore to care for, Pooh would be happy to eat honey all day. But honey doesn't grow on trees.
Once Pooh tried to get honey from a bees' hive. In the end, he did get honey but got stung. He had to work hard to get what he liked best. Another time, Eeyore lost his tail. It didn't affect him much since he couldn't see his tail except in the brook, (but then it was numb). But it caused much concern among his friends. And even though he was loath to admit it, Eeyore was pleased to get his tail back.
Thus is there much to learn from the adventures of Winnie the Pooh. And, even more treasures may be gleaned by observing the Ching of Eeyore.

On hearing of the Tao,
the wise student's practice is with diligence;
the average student attends to his practice
when his memory reminds him so to do;
and the foolish student laughs.
But we do well to remember
that with no sudden laughter,
there would be no natural way.
Thus it is said,
"There are times when even brightness seems dim;
when progress seems like regression;
when the easy seems most difficult,
and virtue seems empty, inadequate and frail;
times when purity seems sullied;
when even reality seems unreal,
and when a square seems to have corners;
when even great talent is of no avail,
and the highest note cannot be heard;
when the formed seems formless,
and when the way of nature is out of sight".
Even in such times as these,
the natural way still nourishes,
that all things may be fulfilled.
-Tao Teh Ching:41(Rosenthal)

3. The Last Meeting
(In Which Eeyore and Pooh Meet Christopher Robin for The Very Last Time, They Meet His Grand-Daughter and Get a Refitting To Boot)
Both Eeyore and Winnie the Pooh were walking on the road for quite abit when they met an old man sitting down. Upon hearing them approach, the old man smiled.
"Hello, Eeyore! Hello, old Pooh!" he cried. "Nice to see you again!"
"Begging your pardon, sir" said Pooh, not knowing who the old man is, "but who might you be?"
Eeyore tugged on Pooh's arm lightly.
"Please, Eeeyore!" said Pooh. To the old man, he said, "I'm sorry, sir, but my friend here wants a private word with me."
"Heh," chuckled the old man, "like old times, eh? Well, you and Eeyore talk amongst yourselves. I've been waiting a long time for the both of you and my patience grows with my age."
Whispering with Eeyore, Pooh says to him, "Now what do you want? I'm curious as to why this old man thinks he knows us. But I don't recall ever meeting him before."
"Of course you have!" declares Eeyore. "But you may have forgotten. It has been a long, long time."
"Well, I don't remember who he is. Perhaps we should ask."
"I remember him very well," insists Eeyore, "but if you want to ask him instead of me, then go right ahead."
"I'm sorry, Eeyore," said Pooh. "How rude of me! Please tell me who the old man is."
"Best you ask him yourself, old friend," suggested Eeyore. "It has been many, many years since he last came to visit."
"You don't suppose it's Christopher Robin?" asks Pooh. "Why, the last I saw him, he was a young lad of 8 or 9 or 10."
"Excuse me, Winnie the Pooh?" said the old man. "I couldn't help but overhear. When I left you last, I was 9 and a half (or was it 10?). Yes! It is Christopher Robin come to visit for the last time!"
Pooh walked slowly up to hug Christopher Robin. As he reached up, his left arm fell off.
"Oh my! I seem to be coming apart!" he exclaimed.
"That is because you are old, too!" said Christopher Robin. "I have wrinkles and white hair, and you are losing your stitches."
"This is horrible!" wailed Pooh. "What am I to do with one good arm? Can you get your mother to sew me up as good as new?"
"I'm sorry to tell you," replied Christopher Robin, "but my mother died a good many years ago."
"Is the old house gone too?" asked Eeyore. "Pooh lost alot of stuffings when you bumped him up the stairs when you went to bed each night as a boy."
"Yes it is," replied the old man, sadly. "They've torn it down to make way for a superhighway."
"You wouldn't happen to have a wife or a daughter to sew me up?" asked Pooh, whose stuffings were starting to leak out of the hole where his left arm was. "I also seem to have developed a slow leak of stuffing."
"Well, my grand-daughter might sew you up if you ask her nicely," said Christopher Robin.
"Where is she?" asked Pooh. "I think this is a Big Emergency now."
"Here she comes now," said the old man, pointing to a young woman of 20. "Eeyore and Winnie the Pooh, meet my grand-daughter Christina."
"Hello, Christina!" said both Eeyore and Winnie the Pooh as one.
"Why hello!" said Christina. "Pleasant surprise to meet you both. Grandpa has always spoken highly of you two."
"Thanks very much," said Eeyore, trying very hard to smile despite already being sad.
"How do you do?" said Pooh. "Your grandpa mentioned you know how to sew."
"Indeed. But I can tell by looking at you that you will need to be redone. Your covering is old and I don't think a proper mending will do you justice, Pooh Bear."
"What about me?" asked Eeyore. "I think my tail might fall off again."
Christina looked Eeeyore over.
"Hm... You may need a redoing too."
"I suppose we all need a refit," said Eeyore.
"Indeed," said Pooh.
"Indeed," agreed Christopher.
And that was that.

Later on, at Christina's sewing room in her apartment across the brook, Pooh stood before the mirror by the corner examining himself.
"You did a good job refitting me, Christina," said Pooh. "And Eeyore, too."
"Thank you," said Christina.
"Will Christopher Robin ever come back to visit us again?" asked Eeyore.
"No, I'm sorry. He passed away when I had taken you both apart at the seams."
"Will you come and visit us at our home one day, Christina?" asked Pooh.
"I'd be glad to," she declared. "And please bring over a few of your friends if they need a refitting."
"We shall do that!"
"Bye bye, dears!" said Christina and hugged both Eeyore and Pooh.
As both Pooh and Eeyore walked back to his home, Eeyore sighed heavily.
"What's wrong, Eeyore?" asked Pooh.
"Nothing. It's funny losing an old friend and us both living on."
"Yes, this is true," agreed Pooh. "Death is such a sad thing."
"So permanent too," added Eeyore. "I'm glad we never die."
"So am I," said Pooh, "but most of all I'm glad that Christina is such a honey!"
"Yes," said Eeyore, "it was sweet of her to mend us."
"Mend us!?" exclaimed Pooh. "She did more than mend us; she made us new."
"Realistic too," agreed Eeyore, wagging his tail. "Remember when my tail was just stuck on with a pin?"
"Indeed I do. I seem to recall that your last tail was found by me."
"It was used as a knocker for Owl's door."
"Well, he won't be able to use this one as a knocker," said Pooh. Then he thought a bit.
"I wonder if the teeth were such a good idea," mused Pooh.

In ancient times, people lived holistic lives. They didn't overemphasize the intellect, but integrated mind, body, and spirit in all things. This allowed them to become masters of knowledge rather than victims of concepts. If a new invention appeared, they looked for the troubles it might cause as well as the short-cuts it offered. They valued old ways that had been proven effective, and they valued new ways if they could be proven effective.
If you want to stop being confused, then emulate these ancient folk; join your body, mind, and spirit in all you do. Choose food, clothing, and shelter that accords with nature. Rely on your own body for transportation. Allow your work and your recreation to be one and the same. Do exercise that develops your whole being and not just your body. Listen to music that bridges the three spheres of your being. Choose leaders for their virtue rather than their wealth or power. Serve others and cultivate yourself simultaneously. Understand that true growth comes from meeting and solving the problems of life in a way that is harmonizing to yourself and to others.
If you can follow these simple old ways, you will be continually renewed.
- Hua Hu Ching:43

4. Live Simple To Be Renewed
Both Eeyore and Winnie the Pooh live very simple lives. Thus they seem to appeal to each new generation of children. This is also the appeal of cartoon characters in the Sunday Comics as well as in the new comics available in the store. These cartoon characters are just reinventions of old myths, written and drawn in such a way as to be contemporary to their fan. By doing so, the artists and writer try to make the imagination of young people of any age come alive. Yet Winnie the Pooh is in need of repair because all the Christopher Robins have grown up only to die of old age while he and Eeyore live on.
Still, the following generations can reinvent Winnie the Pooh and Eeyore too. They represent the Yin and the Yang, and as familiar archetypes, they guide our dreams, our goals, our way of life. Indeed, Winnie and Eeyore appeal the child within. They keep us young. It would be no embarrassment to reread the stories of Winnie's adventures in the world of our own imaginations. Perhaps when we're older, we'll understand what those adventures really mean.
For it is because of the simpleness of the stories that Winnie the Pooh's adventures appeal to us.

The natural way is the way of the sage,
serving as his dwelling,
providing his centre deep within,
whether in his home or journeying.
Even when he travels far,
he is not separate
from his own true nature.
Maintaining awareness of natural beauty,
he still does not forget his purpose.
Although he may dwell in a grand estate,
simplicity remains his guide,

for he is full aware, that losing it,
his roots as well would disappear.
So he is not restless,
lest he loses the natural way.
Similarly, the people's leader
is not flippant in his role, nor restless,
for these could cause the loss
of the roots of leadership.

5. Accepting Change
(In which Piglet visits the new Pooh and ends up getting refitted.)
Now it was a few days later that Piglet came to Pooh Bear's home to visit. He came to the door and saw a sign that read:
Welkum too Pooh's Plays!

Dont noK - Just wok in!

But it was very, very faded and the ink had run. For it had been many, many years since Christopher Robin had written the sign.
Of course, Piglet couldn't read it so he just knocked on Pooh's door.
Knock! Knock!
He would have used the door knocker but that had fallen off many years ago. Besides, Pooh had forgotten Just where he left it.
"Who's there?" asked Pooh from within his home.
"It's me Piglet!" exclaimed Piglet.
And Winnie the Pooh opened the door.
"Who are you?" asked Piglet, for he did not know that Pooh had gone to get refitted.
This bear was different from Pooh. He even had Real Teeth! Piglet was rather startled but had taken bravery lessons from Tigger.
"I'm Winnie, dear Piglet."
"Are you sure you're Winnie the Pooh?" asked Piglet.
"Sure, I'm sure I'm sure!" said Pooh. "Don't you recognize me?"
"No," declared Piglet, "I've never met you before."
"Sure you have," said Pooh, "many times."
"Well, you can't be Pooh," insisted Piglet.
"Why's that?" asked Pooh.
"You have teeth."
"Oh," said Pooh, "indeed I do."
"So you can't be Pooh," insisted Piglet, again.
Winnie the Pooh pondered upon this point for a moment.
"Listen, Piglet," said Pooh, finally, "if I can prove I am Pooh, then will you believe it's me?"
"I might," said Piglet, hesitantly.
"Well, come on in then!" said Pooh.
"Ok, if you promise you won't eat me," said Piglet.
"I won't eat you," said Pooh, "in spite of having teeth. I don't bite."
And so, Piglet entered Winnie the Pooh's home with some reluctance. While inside Pooh's home, he made sure he was quite close to the door, just in case.
"I think," said Pooh, "that I shall start by sharing some hunny with you, Piglet. For you must be really hungry after such a long, long trip all the way from home."
Saying that, Pooh went to his cupboard to get out a pot of hunny. But he could not find a pot, neither here nor there in his cupboard.
"Oh, bother," he said, rather sadly, "I seem to have run out of hunny, again. And with Christopher Robin no longer with us I'm afraid it might be A Very Long Time before we get any. Unless..."
"Unless what?" asked Piglet.
"Unless you come with me to Christina's," replied Pooh.
"Who's that?"
"Why, it's Christopher Robin's grand-daughter, who is Very Sweet (and Such a Honey Too!)"
"Well," said Piglet, "I don't really know. You haven't convinced me that you are Winnie the Pooh."
"Please trust me, Piglet" said Pooh.
"I would," said Piglet, "if you didn't do that."
"Do what?" asked Pooh, scratching his head.
"Smile like that," said Piglet.
"Smile like what?" asked Pooh.
"Smile like that!" exclaimed Piglet. "It shows all your teeth."
"Oh," said Pooh, and kept his mouth shut.
So Pooh and Piglet walked all the way to Christina's apartment on the Other Side of the brook. During this walk, Piglet followed at a safe distance, just in case. Even though he was tired walking all that way, he never said anything.
Finally, outside Christina's door stood Winnie the Pooh and Piglet too.
And Pooh pushed the button that buzzed her apartment.
Buzz! went the button.
Piglet watched from a very safe distance.
"Hello," came Christina's voice from somewhere.
Piglet jumped and was very very frightened. But still he didn't say anything.
"Hello, Christina!" said Pooh. "I've come to pay a visit with a good friend,
Piglet."
"Please come right up!" said Christina from somewhere.
Buzz! went the button again.
And Pooh open the door to the apartment just at that moment.
Quickly both he and Piglet scrambled in.
At Christina's apartment door, Pooh knocked.
"Please do come in!" said Christina from within. "The door is unlocked."
And both Piglet and Pooh entered.
"I'm in my study!" said Christina.
At the doorway to the study, Christina stood over something that looked like a very ferocious beast.
"Oh my!" exclaimed Pooh. "What is that?"
Piglet shrank away from the sight of such a beast. It was not turning out to be his day at all.
"Oh! This is just part of my work," said Christina. "I'm a taxadermist."
"A T-taxi T-termite?" said Piglet. "What's that?"
"A taxidermist stuffs dead animals for a living," explained Christina. "I also gave Pooh his new look."
"Though, according to Piglet, you make me too real," said Pooh, quietly.
"Well, I sort of like your teeth, Edward," said Christina.
"You do?"
"Yes, it gives you character. Besides, I think of you as one of my best works."
"Well, I am flattered," said Pooh.
Christina bent closer to Piglet and examined him closely.
"Oh dear!" she exclaimed.
"What? What?" cried Piglet.
"I'm afraid you need some mending too, Piglet."
"W-will it hurt?"
"It's quite painless, I assure you."
"Quite," agreed Winnie the Pooh. "I've never felt better!"
"W-well, if that's the case, then sure!" said Piglet.
And that's how Piglet was refitted like Eeyore and Pooh.

"Are you convinced I'm Pooh?" asked Pooh later as he and Piglet headed home.
"Yes, quite," replied Piglet. "I'm also glad to have met Christopher Robin's grand-daughter."
"Oh yes!" gushed Pooh. "She is a honey!"
"Though," said Piglet, ruefully, "I wonder if these tusks were stretching things a bit."
Pooh stopped to look Piglet over.
Then he said, "Well, as she said, they do give you more character. It's like my teeth. Now I can eat more than just hunny."
"I suppose you are right," agreed Piglet, somewhat reluctantly.
"Well then," said Pooh, "that's settled then."
And they both continued back to home.

The above story makes a very good point.
At first, Piglet resisted change. He did not like the new look of Pooh and had to learn to trust him enough to accompany Pooh to Christina's place. But once Piglet saw the new look of himself, he rapidly embraced change.
While this is just a story, in real life we are sometimes afraid of change.
For anyone unused to change, it is such a frightening thing. Yet, like the new Pooh, change does not bite. It does not hurt as much as the pain one does to oneself trying to avoid change at all costs. Sadly though, some of us never learn. Sometimes we tend to avoid change when it could do us the most good until it is too late. Then we end up lamenting it all.
What use is it to resist change then?
All that wasted effort could be better used to usher in change and adapt with it. Then life becomes less of a struggle and more of a joy.

The Eight Sufferings Don't Cure Hemmorhoids

Next time you go and meditate, please meditate on the Eight Sufferings.

For it may inspire you to become compassionate and wise.

You might even be inspired to preach the Buddhadharma to a person in need of relief from his suffering.

Because death is only a temporary escape due to the working of karma, it makes sense to prevent suffering to that people are inspired to listen to the Buddha's word and follow his teachings.

For in doing so, psychic suffering is cured.

Otherwise, meditation isn't worth the hemmorhoids.

Censorship: The Myth of Male Power

When a man calls a woman a girl, in no way is it solely implicit that he means she is weak and helpless.

For calling a woman a girl only identifies gender. In the implied insult, "girl" == " female child", which requires suspension of disbelief regarding the conclusion that a child is powerless. This is a myth.

If a child was truly powerless, then why do grown adults fawn over a cute child? A good mass media example of this is the Home Alone franchise.

Therefore the use of the statement, "he called me a girl and thus implies I am weak and powerless" AKA "the male power trip" is a fallacy. For it is a myth that men have power over women. Most laws in Canada protect the rights of women, and thus render arguments about the myth of male power invalid.

This is because such intent cannot be proven since online discussions are protected by free speech.

Implicit in the above arguments regarding the myth of male power over women is its use in censorship.

Free speech Isn't Mind Control

1) Each and every person has the right to be free of the control of others, even while online

2) Each of us makes decisions online to either submit to the control of another person, even if it is actually a corporate monolith that is perceived as cold and threatening to the liberty of the People.

3) If this makes you anxious, then please note the following:
3a) You decided to feel anxious in response to what you read.
3b) While it cannot be helped that my words seem able to manipulate your feelings, this is because of the power of communication.
3c) I actually have no power to manipulate your feelings.
3d) The proof of 3c is simple: You decided to feel a certain way based on what you read, however, you are under no obligation to feel that way FOREVER.
3e) Wait a few minutes more and decide of you wish to continue feeling anxious.

4) As long as you continue to feel based on what you read, you are actually under the influence of YOUR DECISION to feel that way. Even though I may have influenced your decision, I cannot influence your decision NOT to feel that way. That decision is solely up to you.

5) Therefore, while I may influence your initial decision to feel a certain way, I have no control over you controlling your mind, without your compliance.
5a) As a result of this conclusion, my right to free speech does not significantly influence your decision to feel a certain way.

6) However, if you feel that I have controlled your feelings, then I have a way to solve that.
6a) LOG OFF YOUR COMPUTER.
6B) GET OUTSIDE

4) HAVE A NICE DAY!

The Reincarnation of the Buddha and His Diamond Mind

Always it puzzles me that of all the Buddhas, the historical Buddha has rarely been said to reincarnate.

However, I am mistaken, and apologize for giving the impression that the Buddha never reincarnates.

For he does...

Reflection Means Both Incarnation and Reincarnation

Imagine the Adi-Buddha sitting in contemplation with the 108 Buddhas in a field. Imagine further that all Buddhas possess the diamond mind which reflects upon the all the Buddhas.

With respect to the term "diamond", it refers to the unwavering mind which arises from the depths of deep meditation that is known as the clear mind of contemplation and is admired for its clarity and pureness.

Indeed, the diamond mind of the Buddha is the pure mind of Amida Buddha, which is one ofthe 108 Buddhas.

Thus all Buddhas in reflecting Adi-Buddha, reflect on the primordial wisdom of the Buddha.

For the diamond mind of the Buddha is indeed unwavering, unyielding in the face of evil yet yielding to good, and hard to fathom yet soft as a lotus petal.

As the Adi-Buddha is reflected in all the 108 Buddhas, so too is the Buddha Gautama reflected in all the Buddhas

Yet these Buddhas are but reflections of Great Compassion and Great Wisdom, and thus reflect on Amida Buddha.

For the qualities of compassion and wisdom as reflected by Amida Buddha represent the compassion and wisdom of the Buddha.

Therefore, Amida Buddha represents both compassion and wisdom of the Buddha. Thus, Amida is an incarnation of the Buddha, representing the dual aspects of compassion and wisdom.

With respect to the incarnation and reincarnation of the Buddha, it is not the soul that incarnates in the Five Wisdom Buddhas, but the spiritual qualities of the Buddha. This is why the term "reflection" is used in accurately describing the Buddha's relationship with all the Buddhas including Amida Buddha.

Great is the Life of Amitayus and Great is the Light of Amida

In a previous essay I wrote about the Boundless Wisdom of Amida as represented by Infinite Light and the Boundless Compassion of Amitayus as represented by Infinite Life.

With respect to the Buddhist principle of non-self, the term "infinite" implies permanence as in the phrase "that which never goes out."

However, because the wisdom of Amida Buddha and the compassion of Amitayus Buddha are two aspects of the Buddha, the words, "infinite" and "boundless" imply that the Buddha"s wisdom and compassion are everywhere.

For wherever the Buddhist follower sees the words Infinite or Boundless, their actual meaning is "great as the diamond mind of the Buddha, great as the pure mind of Amida", which in its short form is "Great", which has no misleading implications of permanence.

Adi-Buddha is introduced in the following essay: http://gandhara.blogspot.com/2013/01/buddhism-isnt-about-king-in-heaven.html

Cubist Dual Quadragonal Shtern Puwin Dawid

The Myth of the Patriarchy

Almost every man who is divorced agrees with me about the costs of dating a suitable mate, marrying her, and if it sours, alimony for the wife, sometimes with bad blood sown by divorce lawyers and their psychological warfare BS they feed the women.

It's true that the patriarchy has been cooked up to oppress feminists since time immemorial is a bald-faced lie, and truer that men have no privilege in that so-called patriarchy today.

None.

For divorce has exposed the patriarchy as myth.

Ordinary and Diamond Mind (poem)

Who possesses the ordinary mind? Everyone,
even the child just born has it,
but with ignorant craving, she forgets
the Diamond Mind which arose
when Buddha Nature directed her
to her dear mother's womb.

Who possesses the Diamond Mind? No one,
for the Diamond Mind is freely available
yet we all have to to chop wood and carry water
until that moment of serendipity arrives.
Then, it's back to chop wood and carry water.
For the Diamond Mind is carried
to term in the Buddha womb.

With the Diamond Mind (poem)

With the diamond mind, the awakened one can clearly see:
If consciousness and awareness meant the same thing,
then an unconscious person would be unaware of the mind
Though a conscious person may too unaware of the mind,
he too is able to be aware of the mind.
Yet an unconscious person cannot be aware of the mind,
just as an unaware person is conscious only of no-mind.
Imagine if you will boundless wisdom,
and at the same time, boundless compassion.
They represent Amida, the Thus-Come-One,
He who is highly aware of consciousness only, and
He who is highly conscious of his mind only,
the brilliant and magnificent diamond mind.
For awareness and consciousness are but two facets
of the ordinary and quite normal mind,
while compassion and wisdom are but two facets
of the extraordinary and magnificent diamond mind.

Mind and Consciousness As Viewed by the Buddhist

Is the mind a quality of consciousness? No, the mind cannot be a quality of consciousness as it (the mind) arises through the outflow from the brain.

It is an impossibility for conscious to be aware of the mind, since the mind being aware indicates consciousness, whilst consciousness is a quality of the mind.

Is consciousness a quality of the mind? Yes, for the mind is conscious of self and others.

With respect to the consciousness-only school of Buddhism, consciousness itself arises from the mind, which itself arises from the brain's activities.

If the brain dies, so too does consciousness and the mind. Therefore, it can be said that consciousness is also a quality of the active brain.

Thus, consciousness is vaguely aware of itself but to be conscious of consciousness is redundant in syntax. This is why such consciousness is called awareness. Another term used is meta-consciousness, though I haven't heard of it or read of it.

If we replace consciousness with awareness, then the questions are better answered.

Is the mind a quality of awareness? No, because you need a mind to be aware of itself and consciousness.

Is awareness a quality of the mind? Yes, because the mind can be aware of itself and consciousness.

However, could the mind become a quality of awareness? It is possible, despite syntactical errors.

Then it is possible for consciousness to be aware of consciousness, and for the mind to be aware of consciousness. However, the mind can be aware of itself too. Such a mind is known as the diamond mind. Being aware of itself implies clarity of mind as well as mental transparency (the ability to see things through).

Thus awareness is not equal to consciousness but are two facets of the mind..

Since both the mind and consciousness can be aware of consciousness, it follows that the mind is similar to consciousness.

Yet the mind cannot be equal to consciousness since without the mind, it is gone.

Yet is an unconscious mind aware? No, it cannot use the senses.

You'll find that using the senses one can find out a lot about the mind: it can experience phenomenon, both inner (of the mind) or outer (material). Also, the mind can experience phenomenon that has no existence outside fictional works be it in print, on the big and silver screen, especially video.

As well, the mind can be aware of the fact that every character and sentient being in a manga is a conscious entity and thus possesses consciousness, despite the fact that every character and sentient being have no physical existence apart from a poor sketch of each character.

Going further, since Amida Buddha has a cover story, it depicts a mythical king who pledged allegiance ot a Buddha of a bygone era before the historical Buddha, and consequently founded a Buddha world called "The Pure Land of Bliss." After many lifetimes he became the twin Buddhas, Amida Buddha and Amitayus Buddha (Boundless Light of Wisdom and Boundless Life of Compassion respectively. These twins meditated for many eons and soon merged as one, called Amida Buddha.

How is this related to awareness and consciousness? Metaphorically, awareness denote a generalization of the feeling of being aware that is shared between all sentient beings. In contrast, consciousness is the generalization of the feeling of being consciousness. Just as one can be conscious of having a mind, a mind can be aware of being conscious. Thus being conscious and being aware are almost alike just a Amida and Amitayus are alike and just as Wisdom and Compassion are alike.

Compassion applies being able to be selfless enough to lose self-consciousness. Ergo it is associated with awareness. Thus one can be aware of being compassionate, yet have an awareness of compassion.

Wisdom on the other hand applies to experiencing phenomenon from a personal point of view, must as being conscious is. Thus one can be conscious of being wise, and wisdom is thus the shared view of being wise.

Thus awareness of compassion is possible and being conscious of wisdom is too possible.

Likewise one can be aware of being wise, and be conscious of compassion.

Therefore wisdom and compassion are but two facets of the diamond mind.

Countless Worlds in the Cosmos (poem)

Just as there are
countless Buddha worlds
in the Buddhist cosmos,
so too are there
countless worlds in the cosmos
as space scientists know it.

The Personal and the Cosmic Experience According to the Buddha

"[A]ll experienced phenomena are empty (sunya). This did not mean that they are not experienced and, therefore, non-existent; only that they are devoid of a permanent and eternal substance (svabhava). Since they are experienced, they are not mere names (prajnapti)." -- Nagarjuna, Fundamental Verses on the Middle Way

Thus all experienced phenomena are devoid of permanent and eternal substance i.e. experiences are transitory, just as our feelings come and go, and our mood gradually revolves around the moderate centre of calm, the "eye of the storm".

For what is memory's purpose except to help us learn from our mistakes?
Its seeming permanence is an illusion, much like chips of volatile memory in a computer do not retain data when the power is turned off.

Accordingly, emptiness confirms that all experienced phenomenon are experienced and existent, being devoid of eternal substance.

Since they are experienced, they are not labels but actually based on experience.

So if I feel sad (phenomenon), that is experienced as sadness (noumenon). Ergo, sadness is a cosmic quality in the sense that it may be experienced by all sentient beings. Thus in this sense, "cosmic" means "generalized". Likewise, "feeling sad" is what I feel, which is specific to me.

Thus feelings are specific to each sentient beings, while emotions such as sadness may be generally felt by all sentient beings.

However, abstractions of the mind such as Dr Who, an imaginary character in a fiction of a quasi-scientific nature, are experienced phenomenon which only exists in the mind (the sixth sense) but not in the real world.

Instead the actual noumenon of Dr Who would be when a bunch of Whovians share their experience of the phenomenon called Dr Who with each other!

For the cosmic experience of the mind-only phenomenon called Dr Who is the shared experiences of people of like mind discussing Dr Who based on the particular series they've watched.

One could certainly say this is true of the Buddha and even Jesus, though fundamentalists would beg to differ.

On this note I will conclude this article by stating again that Buddhism helps people generalize their personal experiences either through empathy or through sharing with like-minded people their personal experience of phenomena.

The Courtesan of Jahore Bahru

I remember in the 90s, a woman who I met on the Internet in a chat environment that preceded Yahoochat, MSN Messenger and similar chat apps.

After many hours chatting with her, I discovered that she lived in Jahor Bahru, a Malaysian province across from the city-state Singapore. Indeed, there is a bridge that connects Jahore with Singapore.

Anyway, I also found out that she works at a men's club where rich men come to spend quality time with women, but that not all women would have sex with such men.

She said that she was such a woman, and that men paid highly for her time because she would talk to them and make them feel better about themselves.

As well, she mentioned that the other girls felt jealous of her because she would command such a high price but not have sex with men like they have.

Yet, I often wondered, "Why would a rich man pay a lot of money to spent time with a woman when he could have a roll in the hay for cheaper?"

Then it dawned on me: because the man needs an escort, a pretty woman who is sociable and never gossips about it. The old-fashioned word for such a woman is courtesan.

Eventually, the closer we got to discussing our feelings, we resorted to code words for naughty bits with me calling her "my sashimi" and her calling me "her wasabi (the root, not the paste). >:)

Anyway I believe my computer crashed and I lost track of her. I hope she amassed enough money to pay off her family's debt on a house. She mentioned that her dad had won a Malaysian lottery, put a down payment on the house and died before the mortgage was paid off.

Buddhism Isn't About A King in Heaven

Buddhism is documented to have a founder who went to a Buddhist Heaven through a process called parinirvana, and vehemently denied he will reincarnate. In fact, there is no affirmed reincarnation of the Buddha because that would be sacrilege.

Instead you can pick and choose of several Buddhas to acquire wisdom, conquer illness, live a long life of boundless compassion and/or acquire boundless wisdom, etc. knowing full well that they actually represent various aspects or qualities of the mind.

All the devas, daemons and other mythological creatures have had the Buddhadharma preached to them, thus making them protectors of the Dharma.

And even they too represent qualities of the mind.

Are you following me now?

Buddhism is all about the mind, and protecting it from suffering through meditation, firs to calm your mind until it can clearly realize peace of mind as path to happiness.

Even the different worlds in Buddhist cosmology from hell to hungry ghost to human to devas to Tusita Heaven are merely qualities of the human mind!

Indeed, the old Zen saying, "If you see the Buddha, kill hiom!", actually means "If you have a vision of the Buddha, awaken from your dream since it is not the Buddha but your desire to become a buddha."

Thus, Buddhism is actually an Asian psychology which will drive the mad even crazier and render the truly devoted, devoted, gentle, and peaceful.

However, the Lesser Vehicle of the Way of the Monks is known to turn said monks into mighty warriors both in Sri Lanka and in Southeast Asia.

Sadly though, they happen to be sexist and old-fashioned.

Such is the way of South East Asia.

As for Buddhism, there isn't a king in heaven. There are five Wisdom Buddhas which are reflections of the wisdom of the primordial Buddha, the Adi-Buddha, who actually isn't a living being.

One can say Adi-Buddha was present before everything else in the universe existed but not in the sense of an actual living being.

Imagine though that the Adi-Buddha is in the centre of 108 peaceful and wrathful deities who are reflections of it. Imagine further that all famous sages and Bodhiattvas are too reflections of the Adi-Buddha. Imagine even further than you and I are also reflection of Adi-Buddha, for we are all potential buddhas.

Yet Adi-Buddha is first and foremost the Original Beginning, the Unending One, and the ultimate reality all in one, and then some!

Adi-Buddha does not create; for he is the originator of what became this universe.

It is he who pours out the stuff of which this reality is made of.

All phenomena is symbolically represented by the primordial nature of Adi-Buddha; for all phenomena have in Adi-Buddha their collective source,

Being in a continuous, eternal co-relation with the deity, Adi-Buddha also represents the non-duality of the individual's mind and the cosmos, which are interrelated.

For your mind creates the cosmos, just as the cosmos creates the atoms of which your body consists and the air that your breath.

Who needs a king in heaven when you have Adi-Buddha being the source of reality itself?

Who needs a creator god when Adi-Buddha is the origin of the universe itself?

How to Make a Squirrel into an Urban Thug

First, find a squirrel in an urban park with a sizeable population of squirrels.

Next, get a group of humans to feed it popcorn, potato chips and related junk food until it becomes "tame."

Then teach it to climb said humans to get junkfood from atop the head.

Repeat for weekly for about six months.

Next, have said humans move on, and forget about the squirrel.

In six months you will have a squirrel that will not only crawl up your leg top your head, but will bite you if you don't feed it junkfood.

PLEASE DO NOT FEED THE WILDLIFE!

Watch Out for These Pharmaceutical Companies

Over the next year, these are the eight pharmacuetical companies to watch in the news.

No, this isn't a stock market tip. Rather, this is a list of pharmaceutical companies which manufacture psychiatric drugs for ADD, depression, schizophrenia and related forms of mental illness.

They are also the ones who profit from the bio-chemical theory of modern psychiatry, which is verges on being a pseudo-science mainly because it ignores the social causes of mental illness (child abuse, child neglect, bullying and related causes).

I feel strongly that the social model of mental illness will reduce the stigma that the medical model of deficit and pathology has brought to us. Included in the medical model is the bio-chemical theory of how psychopharmaceutical drugs work.

However, without a grasp of the social model, it would be almost impossible for psychotherapy to educate the mental health consumer during therapy sessions as a vital part of proper management of symptoms and effect remission.

Astra Zeneca

Glaxo Smith Kline

Johnson

Lilly

Merck

Novartis

Pfizer

Roche

It is up to anyone concerned about Big Pharma to research each company's involvement in lawsuits, including out of court settlements with each of them and the plaintiffs, where the companies effectively "bribed" survivors of killings and suicides related to mental illness.

If I did this for you, then you'd just take my word for it and not actively participate in monitoring Big Pharm's slippery slope in providing effective medication for mental health consumers which were actually unsafe to take.

So I ask anyone who is experience with Google to search each company's name with the keywords "murder", "suicide" and "killing".

In doing so, you will actively particpate in seeing the social cost to the People by the State in following the medical model of mental illness blindly without moderation by a reciprocal social model.

Thank you for helping me out. Please feel free to post comments.

How the Schizoid Becomes Schizophrenic

My understanding of schizoid is that it simply refers to a person who chose his world over the world at large.

IMO it's a defense mechanism that arises over time to protect the schizoid person from his own fear of the world.

For the schizoid world honors greatly the individual over society.

Medication would prevent such a person from adapting to social pressure and its influence on conforming to social norms.

As well, I feel that rather than an illness, any schizophrenia arising from maladaptation to stress to conform may consist of dysfunctional use of defense mechanisms.

Medication does nothing to help a person to become socialized.  This is why it should be accompanied by psychotherapy and patience by the therapist.

I even consider the delusions arising within the comorbid psychosis that often accompanies schizophrenia to be maladaptation to stress arising from the many fears that the schizophrenic has.

While most of these fears are unfounded, schizophrenics prefer their delusions over reality since it is easier to accept them than to accept the fact that the world is not as safe as a caring family or its State-mandated equivalent.

For the schizophrenic has learned that the world is not a caring and friendly place.

Birds of a Feather Stick Together

One New Year's Day, my mother and I had a long discussion about how we treat each other. When she hears me talking in a manner that upsets her, she would use this argument to get me to behave:

"You talk as though you're smart, but you are not."

After she repeated this three times, I replied, "You know how this makes me feel? Like I am really this small."

I also told her that saying such things is like a form of brainwashing (emotional abuse).

When a person in authority, such as a parent, repeats such phrases, s/he is engaging in psychological warfare, even when it's within the family. The purpose of repeating such phrases is to break down the walls of defense of another family member, usually the child.

This is how a parent tries to control the behavior of her child. However, When a parent talks this way to her adult child, he will try to get her to understand the family dynamics by explaining to her how her words make him feel. For the purpose of getting a parent feedback is to help her see that her words do affect his self image.

In the case of my mother and I, her words may have made me feel as though I am weak and helpless when I was a child. Now that I am an adult, it just makes me feel small. Such belittling by the parent is done to help her feel as though she is in control.

During our discussion, my mother vowed to stay silent but broke that vow until I pointed it out to her. Finally, after I finished my New Year's Day dinner, I thanked her for it.

Later on that evening, my mother apologized for her bad behavior, and I reciprocated by apologizing for my bad behavior. Our mutual behavior during this long discussion would be called an argument by an outside observer.

In my eyes, "argument" implies a long discussion which two people engage with both sides presenting each other's main points. Such a discussion is engaged in so that each side is able to see the other person's point of view. The colloquial term for this aspect of the discussion is called "walking in my/your shoes".

Though the purpose of discussion is to communicate effectively, often through challenges such as inexperience, old age, social isolation and other factors, we see things solely from our point of view alone.

In order to "get the whole picture", it is necessary for people to communicate effectively and present differing points of view so that empathy is shared.

Hopefully, my mother will be aided by our discussion in understanding the family dynamics. For her bluntness is known to "rub people the wrong way."

While I admit that much of my parents' behavior has influenced me, I try not to be blunt and take my time in speaking since getting to the point abruptly tends to upset group harmony.

For now, I feel that New Year's Day was full of moments that enlightened me as to how I view myself and how that view has affected me.

Although my present circumstances reflects such a view, I do not believe that it is a permanent result of "how the way I was raised" but rather a temporary situation I call "dysfunctional self-image."

Additionally, I feel that my mother and I often have long discussions so that we are able to grow close to each other. My way of maintaining the familial ties that bind us together is to engage in argument with my mother so that we both respect each other as individuals.

I recall mentioning to her the phrase "birds of a feather stick together". However, I called this phrase a myth as it implies that like-minded people form a group based a mutual interest when often it is used to imply that a group are all alike.

It's a myth when used in this way because it also implies a "them versus us" mentality. For such a mentality arises when we confront an imagined adversary called "them" who we feel is not the same as us.

This is another case of the "self versus other" dichotomy which I have been writing about in previous articles.

Self and other are not actually adversaries at all.

Rather, when emotions arise, be it anger, hate, love, and other passionate feelings, a person encounters the "fight or flight" response to perceived threat from another person. This threat may be real or imagined, but the result is the same. To counteract this threat, each other engages in a "battle of words" so that the other side is provided with information that helps to determine the ultimate course of "the battle".

This battle is called "argument". Its purpose is to present each person's side in a manner that helps the other side become empathetic towards the other side, whilst helping the other side become of like mind.

In doing so, both side of an argument benefit. Rather than continuing with the myth of "them versus us", it is possible through reasoning and understanding to become like "birds of a feather" who "stick together".

For this is what long discussions I have with my mother are all about!

Children Ought to be Seen and Heard

In my opinion, to punish a child for talking back to a parent is unjustifiable, as by talking back, a child demonstrates two things: that s/he is an individual covered by the human rights proclamation in defense of free speech and that s/he is communicating.

When a parent rewards a child for being silent in the face of verbal abuse, that is mental cruelty and in essence, a form of child neglect, as the parent is neglecting the child's right to communicate freely.

This is the anatomy of rebellion in that child's teens.

Yet sadly, because a minor is in the custody of their caregivers, the rights of children are ignored, to their detriment.

Is it any wonder the things teenagers are doing today away from parents outrageous (gangs, murder, bullying)?

I say the seeds of rebellion and the child straying into the realm of decadent hedonism is tied to how the parent treats that child.

When you give them the opportunity to choice anything but hanging out with the wrong crowd, parents are not depriving children of having a life.

Rather, you are validating their right to be heard and seen.

If I had parents like that, then I'd want to share that story with the world.

Children ought to be seen and heard by their parents, not on the TV being busted for "mischief".

Male Subway Pusher: Hate Crime or Cultural Clash?

Imagine if you would, two men, one an unemployed Korean man, drunk and totally smashed, and a homeless black man, off his bipolar medication and high on pot.

Regarding the Korean, his wife argued with him that morning, possibly about getting a job. As for the black man, he's from Sierra Leone, an apostate Muslim.

They meet before the turnstiles of the New York City subway in the Q Line.
Right from the start they argue. However, the Korean is so drunk he is actually harmless.

However the black man is not only incapacitated by marijuana, he also has been off his bipolar medication since Hurricane Sandy made him homeless.

It was the aggression that Han displayed by repeatedly charging him, not once but three times before Davis made his mistake and pushed the man away, thus escalating what was simple verbal assault into a physical assault.

Due to the effect of THC on reaction time, Davis then could only watch as Han was crushed and rolled between the oncoming subway train as it pulled into the station, leaving a blood streak to the dismay of waiting passengers who witnessed the altercation between the two men.

By doing so, Davis made a serious error both in his timing and in his hesitation to save the man he pushed away.

In his recent interview with a mass media outlet, Davis then attempts to reduce the impression that he didn't mean to push Han that hard. However, his action after doing so was to simply watch him get hit by the train and then leave. A truly regretful man would have simply awaited the police, rather than trying to change his appearance, which to me indicates guilt and the desire to "hide until the coast is clear".

Thankfully, the police caught Davis before the full impact of letting Han die worsened his mental condition. For guilt is for the weak worse than hell on Earth.

While I really feel sorry for Han's family (his daughter and wife), the tear felt appeal by the daughter is interesting. After being asked why no one on the station tried to help rescue Han in the 23 seconds before he died, she said "What's done is done." And then she added, ""The thought of someone helping him up in a matter of seconds would have been great,"

However, Mr. Davis' trial hasn't begun yet. On December 11, he appeared before the court. Though I haven't found a news story to follow up on his charges and when the trial will be.

Subway Pusher Admits to Hate Crime and Misdirected Bias

“I pushed a Muslim off the train tracks because I hate Hindus and Muslims. Ever since 2001 when they put down the Twin Towers I’ve been beating them up.” — Erika Menendez's reason for pushing Sunando Sen onto subway tracks at Flushing 7 in New York City.

My first reaction to Ms. Menendez's statement is "What? That kind of behavior got old when you graduate high school!"

This is another case of misdirected bias which this woman has been doing since 2001. Even though she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, her violence towards men who look like "Hindus and Muslims" verifies the misdirected bias phenomenon.

Her initial criminal charge in 2000 is related to a stolen credit card. However, evidence of her psychiatric disorder does not appear on her police time-line until 2005.

Although she has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, her erratic behavior is more consistent with her drug use (cocaine and marijuana). The escalation of violence combined with harassment suggest elements of anger and rage preceded her attack.

However, her condition deteriorated in 2005 when she went off her medication. In the recent case, the trigger appears to be conflict with her mother. This was back in February 2012. It is likely her violence and non-compliance with medication is due to either the manic phase of her disorder and/or recreational drug use.

Her reasoning for killing Sen indicates psychosis. Even though I sympathize with her psychiatric condition, I find her reason for killing Sen irrational and harmful to others.

Yet a closer look at what precedes each assault — first in April 2003, she scratches and slaps a 28-year old man and later in June 2003 she punches a 55-yr old man — along with the non-compliance with medication, it indicates misdirection of aggression and violence against her loved ones towards an innocent bystander who is male, targeting a racial group. In December she was arrested for cocaine possession.

In the case with the 28 yr old man, she assaulted him in her home. The case was dropped. But the case of the 55 yr old man being assaulted shows the typical signs of cocaine psychosis. She accused him of having sex with her mother, and of stealing jewelry from her in high school. After filing assault charges, and two restraining orders against her, the man never saw her again.

Here's the description of her first day in court: "She laughed and snickered so much during her court hearing last weekend that the judge admonished her. The attorney who represented her only for her arraignment said she acted the same way with him when he tried to speak with her. He had no further comment."

Mass media reports from the Wall Street Journal indicate that the defense lawyer who represented her in court at arraignment will not be handling her defense case, due to Ms Menendez's present state, which indicates either bipolar mania or, most likely, cocaine psychosis.

I really feel for the Menendez family, but their right not to make public comment to mass media indicates that the stigma of mental illness makes their privacy necessary. It also indicates that the Menendez family are afraid of public scrutiny due to the nature of Ms. Menendez's crime.

Ms Menendez's case also shows that her family may not have the resources to place her in a private psychiatric clinic.

Her non-compliance shows that she is in denial of her psychiatric condition, mainly due to the social stigma caused by her erratic and often violent behavior.

Since her diagnosis with bipolar disorder, her use of violence in committing her hate crimes indicates the possibility of recreational drug use. It also indicates that she strongly resents her diagnosis, as indicated by non-compliance of medication.

In light of Ms. Menendez's behavior before her arrest, she needs to be rediagnosed. The Wall Street Journal's news article makes no indication that this has been done but the Huffington Post indicates that a psychiatric evaluation has been requested and will be presented when court determines if she is fit to stand trial on January 14, 2013.

My synopsis regarding Menendez is, Hispanic woman kills South Asian man due to misdirected bias against South Asian and Middle Eastern men in wake of 9-11. Her psychiatric history indicates psychopathic escalation of violence. When she becomes manic, she goes off her medication and resorts to cocaine abuse.

Her past behavior suggests unresolved issues with fathers, brothers and male cousins. Thus, Ms Menendez could be cast as a victim of the patriarchy, since she may have been exposed to anti-Muslim propaganda without confounding information. Thus she fell for the logical fallacies inherent in such propaganda. However, she acted as a bully in reaction to hatred for Hindus and Muslims because the propaganda confirmed her misdirected bias — it is safer to hate Hindus and Muslims than to hate loved ones such as fathers, mothers, brothers, and sisters since the former are outside the family group.

By spreading the propaganda of anti-Muslim factions among the right-wing politicians with the aim of unjustly daemonizing Muslims, mass media only sows the seed of hate crime in a young mind warped by decadent hedonism and unwilling to mature into a woman in control of her life.

...

In a related murder on the subway weeks earlier, Ki-Suck Han, 58, was pushed onto subway tracks by Naeem Davis. I bet mass media is going to suppress reporting on the enmity between the Korean community and Black community in the wake of the Rodney King riots. My rant on the Davis / Han subway murder is pending.

Virtue and Non-virtue Points to Self & Other and No-Self

Gewa == virtue

Mi-gewa == non-virtue

Virtue is when noble acts
performed spontaneously
prepare you for the good life.
Which one you for?

Avidya == ignorance
Vidya == wisdom

Ignorance is not seeing the truth;
Wisdom is seeing with a clear mind.
Which one you for?

Skandha == the five aggregates

When one believes he has wisdom
while faith in self and other is strong,
ignorance coalesces
in each of five simple steps of
form, sensation, perception,
impulses, and consciousness.
Thus is suffering understood
within the context of experience.

Experience thus prepares
each of us to realize
primordial wisdom,
the mind pure and serene.
All it takes is meditation.

Atman == self and other
Anatta == no-self

Smash faith in self and other
until it is like finely ground sesame;
this is the essence of no-self.
This is the reason for meditation.
Which one you for?

Why Wade Michael Page Shot Up Sikh Temple

Since 9-11, misdirect biased attacks having been occurring against Sikhs, mainly by people who fail to understand that Sikhs are not Muslims.

Regarding mass media reports, the article in the NY Post did not fully remind Americans that not everyone wearing a turban is Muslim while the NY Times went into detail to show that Sikhs are not Muslims. NBC's report reflects breaking news before forensics experts analyze the crime scene.

According to mass media reports, in this late summer attack in Milwaukee, this misdirected bias attack developed a myth based on the NY Post article: a man dumped by his lover due to his penchant for violence, who in a fit of what was originally misogynist rage, decides to sacrifice the innocent lives of Sikhs, just because they wear turbans. In essence, he went psychotic and made the irrational decision to to channel all his hate against his ex-girlfriend and possibly his mother for not loving him enough to accept him as he is, warts and all, misdirecting it to what are innocent bystanders.

However, this may be a myth.

A closer look at his profile in the Wikipedia article on the Milwaukee shootings give a full background of a man who in his youth worked for the US Army as a missile systems repairman, and when that weapon was rendered obsolete, became a psychological warfare (PSYOPS) specialist until his self-medication with alcohol led to involuntary discharge in 1998. He then returned to Colorado, living in Littleton from 2000-2007. Overall this profile indicates that he comes from a broken home with his step-mother divorcing his father in 2000, leading to estrangement.

His later involvement in white supremacy tends to indicates replacement of parental guidance with a group known for its membership of marginalized white males where group cohesion is maintained by replacing State propaganda with a radical right ideology where empowerment is achieved through catharsis achieved through shame of being a white male and the resulting empowerment consisting of the white supremist ideology without a clearly articulated plan to achieve such supremacy. Without any rules about how to achieve said supremacy, various members of such groups exhibit impulsive acts of violence on their own initiative, often while under the influence of alcohol.

Perhaps hate filters out everything but the turban, despite the fact that most Muslims do not wear turbans anymore. Indeed, none of the 9-11 terrorists wore turbans, thus invalidating any racist's irrational logic that "all men who wear turbans are Muslim."

This logical fallacy is the result of hate propaganda which, by its nature appeals to emotions and thus is false.

Sikhs in turbans daily disprove they are militant by spending most of their time in their temples in prayer and feeding their hungry members.

However, this shooting shows that once again, like the Columbine mass school killing, the Ecole Polytech massacre, the Dawson College shooting, the VTech shooting and even the Newtown Shooting demonstrate that each one of them is a misdirected bias killing in which a target is chosen to direct rage originally experienced with each of the killer's original target of rage (be it father, mother or girlfriend).

Since it is not safe to kill your parents or someone you love, in such a killer's mind, killing a mass of people you hate is preferable to doing something positive to get over the fact that the people you love hurt you, like forgiving them and moving on.

This might also explain violence in general, too.

I propose a simple way to reduce such carnage in the future: institute in public and private schools emotional support for children of divorce and a harm control plan for alcohol and recreational drugs. As well, the culture of silence among today's youth requires the support of whistle-blowers.

Visible Minority Saved Fate of Racist Whites

If it wasn't for the vocal objection of a visible minority, racist whites would still be accepted as the norm. So thank you Canada for enacting the Canadian Charter of Human Rights Act. Sadly though, the way it is written, even a Canadian municipality could use it to protect the majority from legal action by the visible minorities.

However, only the lawless trump justice by resorting to violence, regardless of the consequences such as Canadian crime bills that have the potential to turn your circle of friends on GooglePlus into "gangs".

Yet I am surprised that even the radical reactionaries among the Sikhs haven't retorted to me, when they spend so much time reacting to that radio talk show host who wasn't referring just to them a few years ago, and kept Immigration Canada at bay regarding the illegal immigrant they were rallying around.

Maybe poverty breeds anonymity. My net worth being in the red by almost a hundred C-notes helps me even more anonymous than Anonymous!

Despite the handful of East Asians in the news, I don't see Chinese reactionaries getting as much 300 second sound bytes on the news about those two murders of innocent South Asian women, and very very little from the inconspicuous Japanese - quite probably because mass media would dread the deluge of hate mail if other ethnic groups within the visible minority milieu expressed their free speech rights in a civil manner.

In my opinion, the most ridiculed of other minority groups would be the Christian rednecks amongst the NRA and possibly the reactionary Muslims, the hardliners who are this close to being criminals, but then just uttering an indirect death threat to anyone is criminal.

For a fatwa is not protected by free speech or by the right to freely practice a religious as one sees fit.

If a fatwa involves the death of the object of that fatwa, then whoever among the Muslim clerics supports it is offensive to God by putting the ideology of the holy war before God. Essentially, if a fatwa results in the death of the object of that fatwa, then it is akin to ritual sacrifice. This makes a mockery of God, because such a death is murder sanctioned by man yet excused as "the will of God".

When the will of God consists of devout men willing to kill for their God, this is proof that such men put first their ideology over their God.

For a man cannot serve two masters when it comes to religion.

While I am still at it, the above contentious logic is also reserved for well-meaning but possibly deluded, most likely misinformed and deliberately ignorant fundamentalists, e.g. abortion assassins who can't shoot straight, radical feminists who collaborate with Christian fundamentalists to close down adult stores and legislate pornography, gang members who have harmed thousands of people but have "found Jesus", and police officers going beyond the call of duty to serve and protect only to practice a form of State terrorism abusing people with "non-lethal force" weapons, sometimes with lethal results.

This is religious fascism, be it holy war, assassination of abortion doctors, the legislation of pornography, criminals who find Jesus in prison yet offered no mercy to their victims before prison, and tazer-happy cops being fronted by the company that makes such "non-lethal" weapons.

For fascism only markets violence, of which few participants are able to profit and in which few WWE veterans participate. It offers no social redeeming value and has no plan except to rob people of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

Sadly though, few of my detractors are brave enough to register on Blogspot and rise above the usual web page vandalism i.e. spam posts with URLs pointing to scripts to convert unprotected computers into adbots for porn web links. Since I am not referring to the intelligentsia among my fans and critics — your intelligence will protect you from reacting emotionally to this jab at the mouth-breathing script kiddies — hopefully this will occasionally result in a comment.

Otherwise, I will retain this ridiculous delusion that I am talking to myself.

Though, as I wrote in a previous article, it's probably a side-effect of being Buddhist: I tend to pick my words carefully but end up subtly saying something important, or sometimes just inserting the main point in the bottom third of the article. That way, the reactionaries will go WTF and do what they do best — abreact — and thus fall on the swords they've made of their ego projections.

Depending the level of rhetoric and based on which response requires legal intervention, I can empower myself c/o the CCHRA.

Or not.

That all depends on who is ugly enough to turn up on my doorstep to get the dharma from me!

I also deliberately write long entries because this is a personal blog, and it's a world that I am "conquering".

After discovering how much work it is to run a web server, I am hooked on using GooglePlus and Blogspot for my benefit and yours to conquer the Internet.

Though my original plan was to one day move this content to another blog web service under my control and administration, GooglePlus fits this bill, but I don't have to move any content when I can share it with the world.

Given the totalitarian nature of the Internet, if I cannot rule the world, then I can start my own blog and write about my own!

Buddhism: The Toolkit of Consciousness

My lifelong experience with Buddhism has proven to me that being deeply spiritual requires suspension of disbelief, faith in subjective reality and the objectivity of reason.

The Buddha, Buddha Nature, Nirvana, Dharma - these actually are actually processes contained in the mind to define, and to experience consciousness more fully. They are actuated through meditation.

Hence they are mind tools in the sense that they actually are used to explore the psychology of the mind. For all the discrete concepts of Buddhism represent at their core the many different facets of consciousness itself.

However, take care not to worship anything in Buddhism as a thing in itself. For Buddhism has no room for idolatry. It is essentially a toolkit that has been used for over 2500 years to explore the depths of consciousness.

Today, only fools consider Buddhism to be a religion like Christianity, and thus useless to the pursuit of profit. This flies in the face of daily proof that religious institutions actually gather together people of like mind to not only worship but also to profit from what amounts to a golden chain of love for each other's mutual good. For religious endeavor of any kind funded for spiritual profit is worthy of contribution, both financial and scholarly.

So, take what you want from what you learn about Buddhism to use as tools to explore consciousness, such as meditation and even the various layers of the consciousness as described in the Yogacara school of Buddhism.

I expect anyone reading this to do their research first. My blog contains enough clues to learn about the Buddha and what he symbolizes.

Even so, nobody is obliged to do so. All I ask is that anyone who wishes to walk on without careful research to avoid disrespecting the Buddha in a serious manner, because I might just show the fruit of your karma and make you eat it. >:)

Like the Essence of Dharma (poem)

Hard it is to be born poor,
even harder to accept is
becoming poor when once rich.
Free are creatures small
that fly about or crawl,
but freer still is Man.

Liberation is a process binding
all sentient beings to samsara,
yet freeing the one thing
sentient being have: consciousness.
For it is the consciousness
that Nirvana frees, not the soul.
For consciousness is non-self,
and on contemplating
the whole universe,
is contained within the heart-mind.

When such joy is found,
easy is the peace of mind
regardless of want.
Craving thus ended is gone,
replaced by calm abiding.
Easier is acceptance
of one's lot in life,
to not strive needlessly, lest
the joy of being
is traded in for gold.

For the joy of being is
more precious than gold itself.
It is more precious
than the sweet life.
Those who have never tasted
the sweetness of life
are free of mental caries
which lead to sadness —
they know the Void is all things.

For the Void is the Buddha womb
which gives birth to peace,
within your heart-mind, but calls
out to you calmly,
that peace called Buddha Nature.
All "I", "me", or "mine"
are but conceptions, not things
which last forever &mdash
If "I" truly existed,
it would always weep
for lack of profit, but then
the selfless know well
the folly of such delusions.
If "me" existed,what would be
the point of "you" except
to make the world less lonely?
If "mine" existed, would that
allow "yours" to share?
Thinking these conceptions things,
each of us is free to choose
the delusions or let go
of it, to uncover peace of mind.

With peace comes the calm mind,
achieved through careful contemplation
whilst letting go of conceptions,
and holding onto nothingness,
the seed of well being,
freed in spite of strife,
close to the struggle called life,
yet closer still in the midst of
physical poverty to the endless process
called by many names: freedom,
joy of being, letting go, liberation...
Ignore the distraction of egoistic Love,
lest it be the death of Nirvana.

Holding tightly, the ignorant fear such freedom —
death overtakes everyone.
And yet, the Buddha
Shows a shining example.
Letting go, the seeker is free
to explore nothingness,
which is filled with potential
far greater than death:
the pure joy of peace of mind!

Where once these words first brought fear,
they shall bring joy on the retelling.
Contained within what was written is like
the essence of the Dharma,
but feel free to doubt this.
To anyone who fails to research anything
written here, and, in fleeing, hides
behind disbelief: walk on with lack of faith
but respect the Buddha as the mother of boundless joy.

Debunking Doomsday Hoaxes

http://www.universetoday.com/98979/the-truth-about-2012-killer-solar-flares-are-a-physical-impossibility/

The next time the conspiracy theorists mention the solar flare doomsday scenario, post this URL with the following rebuttal:

"I call your doomsday prediction a hoax by referring you to the experts' facts contained in this web link..

If it is refuted by any variation of 'the government coverup' fallacy, then you will confirm that your website is designed to fool naïve people.

If, on the other hand, you admit that you are perpetuating a hoax, then it makes sense to include this link on your website, because your free speech rights not only allows you the privilege to perpetuate a hoax but also obliges you to moderate its potential fear-mongering with what the experts say."

How to spot a hoax web site:

Webpages use images which are of low quality.

Content on web pages on the website paint a picture of a no-win doomsday scenario but lacks any information from at least one reliable source that proves said scenario. A reliable source depends on the context. If it is the "killer solar flare" scenario then there should be a link to a NASA website. If it is the "Mayan doomsday" scenario, see below

Fear-mongering is the intent of the content if you feel anxious after reading it. To counteract this fear, Google "killer solar flare hoax". If it's the Mayan doomsday hoax, Google "Mayan doomsday hoax".

You can Get Raped But Not Protest Rape in the World's Largest Democracy

While the lady raped on the bus in Delhi got emergency treatment in Singapore, the 17-year old girl who was raped recently by an auto rickshaw driver committed suicide.

The reason why has led to police officials getting canned.

Why should a minor who has been raped either choose between marrying the man who raped her or settling for blood money from his rapists? Especially when the police refused to file the rape complaint, which actually victimized the young woman as much as the rape itself.

If this is how the officials of the world's biggest democracy handle rape cases, it shows that the State is highly patriarchal in nature.

Even though India may be a nuclear power, domestically it seems democracy cannot inculcate in its men full respect for its women.

IMO it looks like in both cases, the men were investing in their manhood more than in any respect for women.

Their actions were predatory in nature, and in both cases, the police have failed in their duty to the State to protect The People.

Ahmad's a Real American

The following essay is a pro-American statement that denies Dye and Zeigler's contention that the small educated and wealthy elite in America wrote the US Constitution.

This revisionist view of American independence is a form of socialist thought that is undermining not only American values promote by the Constitution, but also compromising US foreign policy both with its global allies but also with the Middle East.

In this essay, a Kuwaiti denies the socialist view of the US Constitution and does honour to America including Jefferson and especially Bush.

Give Ahmad US citizenship. He deserves it, rather than psychotherapy.

Dye and Zeigler contend that the constitution of the United States was not “ordained and established” by “the people” as we have so often been led to believe. They contend instead that it was written by small educated and wealthy elite in America who were representative of powerful economic and political interests. This paper will CRITICALLY analyze the US constitution and how it was a progressive document FOR ITS TIME. And how it symbolizes and embodies what America is today a just and democratic society where all men and women are created equal and that men and women are free to pursue their own happiness and fulfillment.

I completely disagree with Dye and Zeigler’s contention that the founding father had ONLY their best interests at heart and that that the constitution of the United States was a progressive document for its time compared to the aristocratic monarchies of Western Europe (excluding Britain). The American constitution worried monarchs in Europe. The right for men to choose their own representatives was unheard of in the rest of the world. Yet in a young country which freed itself from the shackles of the greatest empire of the time. The founding fathers were stalwart heroes who led the brave young men of this great land and in order to establish a democracy maybe not a direct or perfect democracy but one that guarantees the freedom of its citizens. It is ludicrous to assume that a direct democracy can succeed in the United States. Yet in the last ballots of November 2nd 2004 the people of the United States DID get a chance of influencing their political decisions in their country and that is thanks to the US constitution established by the great men of America like George Washington and Thomas Jefferson.

These men paved the way for what America is today the country of opportunity and freedom. These men were men of nationalism and men who took great pride in formulating what is today the greatest country in the world and thank god that it is so. Because of America the world is free. America vanquished Nazi Germany. America helped establish the great nation of Israel a democratic society in a troubled region. America freed Japan and South Korea. America freed Kuwait and now is currently in a fight to free Iraq and its 25,000,000 residents and vanquish the tyranny and monstrosity of Saddam Hussein. The US constitution and the Founding Fathers helped build the foundation to which all this was established.

It is through the efforts of America’s great leaders like George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Ulysses S. Grant, Frederick Delano Roosevelt, John F. Kennedy, Ronald Reagan, George HW Bush, current President Bush and most importantly the American troops who risked their lives for the freedom of America and the freedom of others that this country is so great and prosperous.

The US constitution might have required many amendments for its to catch up with modern times but no nation had a constitution which challenged the US in terms of equality and freedom at that particular time which made the document a very sophisticated one for its time a document which was feared by monarchs as being “too progressive”. It’s because of the American constitution and the American “elites” that Dye and Zeigler could critique this constitution and Americas Founding Fathers. It is because of America’s constitution that thousands of people wish to live there and walk amongst the free. “The whole art of government consists in the art of being honest.”
President Thomas Jefferson.

The United States constitution might have excluded the majority of people at the time. But it progressed and America like every nation in the world progressed and became a greater nation the constitution is now a document held in great esteem by Americans the Founding Fathers of America are greatly enshrined in dollar bills and the American people are proud of their country and history.

It is the American constitution that helps the American government to solve its problems in legal ways and in ways that will bring true American justice and resolve. The American foundation was built by the American constitution and the Founding Fathers and nothing can destroy these foundations.

“Terrorist attacks can shake the foundations of our biggest buildings, but they cannot touch the foundation of America. These acts shatter steel, but they cannot dent the steel of American resolve.” President George W Bush.

America is a nation which has survived problems and many attacks on its soil yet the American will did not hesitate. America stood its ground and the Founding Fathers are the ones who built the Foundation that this ground were built upon. It is wonderful to have the freedom to argue Dye and Zeigler contentions and that is also due to the US constitution.

If the constitution was so negative then how did the United States the most powerful nation in the world today. If it was so negative how did the Soviet Union collapse in the Cold War? The United States constitution is a great document which for its time was extremely progressive and the evidence to the that is the United States’ accomplishments to date.

Media Fabrication of War Not New

In 1898, Joseph Pulitzer's New York World and William Randolph Hearst's New York Journal were arguing for American intervention in Cuba. Hearst is reported to have dispatched a photographer to Cuba to photograph the coming war with Spain. When the photographer asked just what war that might be, Hearst is reported to have replied, "You take the photographs, and I will provide the war". Hearst was true to his word, as his newspaper published stories of great atrocities being committed against the Cuban people, most of which turned out to be complete fabrications.

On the night of February 15, 1898, the USS Maine, lying in Havana harbor in a show of US resolve to protect her interests, exploded violently. Captain Sigsbee, the commander of the Maine, urged that no assumptions of enemy attack be made until there was a full investigation of the cause of the explosion. For this, Captain Sigsbee was excoriated in the press for "refusing to see the obvious". The Atlantic Monthly declared flat out that to suppose the explosion to be anything other than a deliberate act by Spain was "completely at defiance of the laws of probability".

Under the slogan "Remember the Maine", Americans went to war with Spain, eventually winning the Philippines (and annexing Hawaii along the way).

2001-2002: America and the UK collaborate to "prove" that weapons of mass destruction were being produced by Iraq, including fabricated reports, denials by investigators, a possible assassination of an investigator in the UK, and media hype.

By 2003, the Americans and British people were almost unanimous in their support of an invasion of Iraq. Anyone who tried to point out the economic reason of the war (oil) were dismissed as conspiracy crackpots.

In fact, the media had much to do with propagandizing for war in both Afghanistan and Iraq, much as they had done during the breakup of Yugoslavia in the 1990s.

Even the Kosovo War was heavily propagandized, with Roma Gypsies being decimated by both the Kosovo militants, who were supported by young Albanian males from America, and the Serbians, who were supported by Communists, drug dealers and thugs.

Today, even recent mass murders are propagandized. The Cho Seung-hui case is a prime example. Very few people are picking up on the slogan "Ismail Ax" in red ink on Cho's arm.

Instead, they are playing up on the "weird and creepy loner" angle.

Another example is the recent Newtown shootings. It's my contention that Adam Lanza had behavior similar to "hikikomori" especially social isolation.

In light of revelations made about him, Lanza's actions remind me more of an angry child, in a fit of jealous rage, than a killer who coldly calculated the deaths of innocent children.

Even despite carrying two handguns and a semi-automatic rifle, he shot himself before using all his ammunition precisely because of same reasons Marc Lepine, Eric Harris, Dylan Klebold, Kimveer Gill, and Seung-hui Cho did so: to prevent the hell of a murder trial.

Just as the mass media fabricates the weird and creepy loner to explain these mass school killings, so too did it fabricate weapons of mass destruction (WMD) before invading Iraq.

In doing so, mass media is but a propaganda tool of the State.

The Amazing Adventure of Carla and Dr Who

On youtube, the previews of The Snowmen in the Dr Who Christmas special give just enough information to form its premise but barely enough to get the theme right.

However, the clever prequels with the Silurian detective and her love from Victoria England gives us a big clue that the Doctor is the greatest detective.

In real life, this episode is a reflection of Moffatt's new Sherlock Holmes series.  Though, it'd be nice for the Doctor to hide out in Victoria England, as I recall an episode with the Tenth Doctor and Martha Jones where she played a servant and Doctor Who played a human being to avoid being killed by an enemy.

So after Series 6 "Death of Doctor Who" arc, it took five episodes to get rid of the Ponds by sending them back in time to 1946, in a time pocket that the Tardis cannot visit without being trapped.

It appears that a stone angel not unlike the ones in Series 05x04 and 05x05 sends them to that fixed point in time. It's so fixed that it fixes them in time in such a way that the Doctor can never rescue them.

Cue to Series 7x06 The Snowmen.

It turns out people's thoughts animated them. If you think of calm and peaceful tranquility, they turn to water. That's pretty Buddhist! ;)

It turns out that Carla used to be a barmaid, and does not let anything Doctor Who does to stop her from learning more about him.  Though she'll still get giddy adventuring throughtout time and space with him, without the need of ale.

Methamphetamine Kills

Methamphetamine does not discriminate against bisexuals, gays, or heterosexual people. However, its use is high amongst gay people since it affects the libido.

Methamphetamine raises the blood pressure. This could lead to cardiovascular disease including risk of heart attack and/or stroke.

As well, methamphetamine turns on the body's thermostat.

This makes it difficult to concentrate, and when you do concentrate it's on ways to get a rush as a reward for it.  In the quest to score more methamphetamine, impulse control goes down the drain.  Caution is replaced with risky behavior — combined with heightened libido, you may abandon condoms for riding bareback. This will lead to the risk of getting sexually transmitted diseases or worse, AIDS.

If you don't get your reward, then you might get angry. That anger will both fuel and feed off aggressive behavior until it leads to confrontations with whomever may prevent you from getting another rush.

During regular use of methamphetamine, you sleep less, but this kind of insomnia is not under anyone's total control because even in the hypomanic stage of sleeplessness, your productiveness and friendliness is suspect.

When the bouts of insomnia last for days, there is a strong chance that mania will occur with psychotic breaks occurring which include hallucinations where you think there are bugs under your skin or paranoia where you think somebody is trying to spy on you.

Methamphetamine use will burn you out, and leave you irrational as though a raging beast is trying to get out. Your work productivity will be reduced because it is impossible to concentrate when the ambient temperature seems like 30° C when actually your body temperature is close to 40°.

Due to loss of appetite, women on methamphetamine will become anorexic to the point of the menstrual cycle stopping.

Because of the fire that's raging inside you, you start to dry out from inside out. Your skin shrinks, and your head turns grey. You lose your beauty and often your mind. What's worse is if you get AIDS, the disease will ravage you within months, due to reduced immune system, initially caused by methamphetamine and worsened by the disease itself.

Regarding the immune system, methamphetamine use reduces its function. As its function is reduced, human endoretrovirii (HERV) awaken and lower the immune system. When the AIDS virus infects you, it chemically signals the HERV to go into overdrive which lowers the immune system further, leading to cancer and TB.

In the end, you die from the secondary diseases due to a dysfunctional immune system. That is, if you don't die from a heart attack, stroke or suicide due to depression.
